[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 808622] [NEW] ConnectedMonitor and UseDisplayDevice option for open radeon driver
Public bug reported: Hi! I cannot find the way to force radeon driver for using certain digital output with ConnectedMonitor and UseDisplayDevice option for open radeon driver. These options are possible only for commercial NVidia driver. Is there some way to avoid monitor detection and force to use certain digital output (hdmi or dvi) with open radeon driver currently? I am using Mythbuntu 10.04 + enabled repos by Mythtv developers (mythtv 0.24). Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 745304] Re: Graphics corruption after hibernate with Intel GMA 3150 chipset
2011/7/9 sasha1024 745...@bugs.launchpad.net: Just as a notice: the described problem can be workaround by doing sleep (aka standby aka in-memory-suspend) after resuming from hibernation. I.e. the system is restored from hibernation, the screen is broken (only the right 1/10 of the screen works). Then press Ctrl+Alt+F2, type your login, Enter, type your password, Enter, type sudo pm-suspend, Enter (then your password again and Enter again if your sudo is configured to ask password), wait until it falls asleep, then move your mouse to wake it up -- and VOILA -- the screen now works ok. VOILA does not describe the process :) However, one can just close and reopen the laptop screen to achieve the same effect, that's much easier than logging into a console. OTOH, I know these comments don't help but... is there any hope to see this regression fixed in natty? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 775936] Re: Render error with Intel GMA graphics card
I am fairly certain I was able to duplicate the issue in Kubuntu Natty. It does not appear to be a problem in Xubuntu Natty. If it's a show- stopper for anyone, and you are satisfied with Xubuntu instead of Ubuntu/Kubuntu, that may be a solution until it gets fixed. I am running Xubuntu now, at least until 11.10 or 12.04 comes out to see if this goes away. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775936 Title: Render error with Intel GMA graphics card To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/775936/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 800172] Re: Application keylogger vulunerability in Xserver
Closing this is wrong. Upstream is responsible for making Xorg work, not for delivering a reasonably secure desktop experience, that is the job of the distribution maintainers. Upstream is just saying use SElinux, that is not the best way to do this, keylogging is trivial under the current setup, Windows / OSX do not suffer from this. Under Xorg it is possible to write a one-line command line that captures input and posts it to a web server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/800172 Title: Application keylogger vulunerability in Xserver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/wayland/+bug/800172/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 745304] Re: Graphics corruption after hibernate with Intel GMA 3150 chipset
We've had this fix in the proposed kernels for quite some time now. The problem has been that there were a number of regressions in the upstream 2.6.38 stable releases, which translated to regressions in our proposed kernel, and these have prevented us from releasing the proposed kernels until they are sorted out. Normally it should't take this long to get a fix released. Thanks for your patience! [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 585765] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 random freezes

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 809017] [NEW] Wrong resolution w/ CRT Geforce 9400 GT
Public bug reported: Running 11.04 x64. Worked on the same before, but that install was a 10.10 upgrade. I need 1600x1200, but it outright refuses to show up on the dropdown list. I actually can't get above 1152x854 1280x720 of all things. As a temporary fix I've pulled the card entirely reinstalled (nvidia has a way of accidentally your boot cycle with no easy fix so I really don't want to pop it back in unless there's a definite fix). Public bug reported: Many of the modern HP laptops have new Synaptics touchpad with soft toggling area on the top left corner (instead of hadrware button) and the LED near it. The synaptics driver doesn't have the option to handle that and the kernel cannot control this LED.
