[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 828893] Re: left mouse button ignored
[ Seems SOLVED, for me at least ] First I installed evtest (aptitude install evtest), and then by trying each input device in turn [1], found the one that my Synaptics touchpad was connected to would not respond to the left button: root@shahhaqu-w500:~# evtest /dev/input/event7 Input driver version is 1.0.1 Input device ID: bus 0x11 vendor 0x2 product 0x7 version 0x1b1 Input device name: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad Supported events: Event type 0 (Sync) Event type 1 (Key) Event code 272 (LeftBtn) Event code 273 (RightBtn) Event code 325 (ToolFinger) Event code 330 (Touch) Event type 3 (Absolute) Event code 0 (X) Value 5557 Min 1472 Max 5598 Event code 1 (Y) Value 4803 Min 1408 Max 4670 Event code 24 (Pressure) Value 0 Min0 Max 255 Event code 28 (Tool Width) Value 0 Min0 Max 15 Testing ... I disassembled the front of the case, and noticed that the cable/flexible PCB that connected it was creased and twisted. Untwisting the cable seems to have done the trick. Then I remembered that for a recent memory upgrade, the tech had opened this exact part of the case... At any rate, evetest allowed me to see this was happening before the X server. If so, about how frequently does it seem to occur? Also, when it locked up did the whole system lock up requiring turning it off and back on? This Bug was still present in Lucid in 2011-03. ;) But this is not my business anymore. Since 2011-04 i use debian with the same old bug. The bug is still present in an uptodate X. The only thing about is - the lag is smaller, but never gone. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 771370] Re: [RV250] display is corrupted
Solved. I reinstalled 10.09 after filing the bug report. Recently I installed 11.04 again and there is no evidence of video corruption. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771370 Title: [RV250] display is corrupted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-driver-ati/+bug/771370/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 741930] Re: [natty] nvidia binary packages for older cards - dependencies not met
Any news on when this will be available? This is kind of a deal breaker for quite a big user base. Is there any way to grab the package before it goes into natty-updates? I could not find it on Alberto's PPA. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 766693] Re: [RV250] Screen artifacts
I marked this bug as duplicate of bug #771370 some months ago but since the problem of the original reporter of that bug is solved and mine is still present I go back to this bug report – still, you'll find some additional information there. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 661248] Re: Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT doesn't work with nvidia-current 260
One additional piece of information: this seems to be related to the combination of motherboard and GPU; I tried the same GPU (G260) on another machine, running ubuntu 11.04 and it works just fine. My motherboard is an ASUSTeK M2N-VM HDMI, with a NVIDIA GeForce 7050PV/nForce 630a chipset.
