Public bug reported: This issue is present in gallium drivers from mesa 7.10.x which are in Ubuntu 11.04. Ubuntu 11.10 is not affected, but the fix should be brought in to Ubuntu 11.04. I have an ATI Radeon 3850. Using the default drivers (xf86-video-ati and gallium for dri), I get lockups within a few seconds of any operation using DRI (compositing, OpenGL, whatever). The issue is fixed in the meas commit ecc051d65b6e17115439fb3609cccfd59f6272bf on master and should be brought in to Ubuntu to address this lockup. I have this issue on a Thinkpad X201i. It happens quite often after resuming from a suspend; either while I am typing my password to login or just when I have pressed enter. Simple applications cause Xorg to hose all memory and swap, the systems runs to death. I feel that's not okay, we should have proper ulimits to block a full system kill by single applications. Hi Seth, Version 0.2 worked fine. Laptop: Dell Latitude E5410 Edge scroll works. Disable touchpad while typing works. I did have to enable scrolling via gpointing-device-settings, just standard gnome mouse settings didn't seem to work. Attached is a quick patch that inspects that valuator accesses do not go out of bounds. I changed only the motion and button accesses and not the Wacom one. The reason being that it seems to loop over all data so it should be valid. I have not tested the patch in any way, so it might not even compile. I have not tried replacing system Qt ever so I reckon someone with more experience ought to try it first. As far as the sporadical thing goes, the situation for me is the reverse: I don't get any errors for pressure but I do get it for tilt. Since my tablet does not seem to support tilt, its values should always be zero. There's also the case that I get different behavior on evemu-traces than the real tablet. Hello, I am new here, but I want to share my experience with this kind of issue. A week ago I bought brand new HP Probook 4530s. I removed SUSE and installed Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal x86_64 64bit. Scrolling with two fingers horizontal and vertical works. I do not know how to perform a middle click. Clicking and dragging works. But the enable/disable clickpad/touchpad with the tapping on the the top left corner where is LED is broken. I can't get it work. Public bug reported: What I was trying to do was installing the latest ATI Proprietary drivers available from the Additional Drivers installer. I was expecting after a restart that my computer would have a fully functioning graphics card. Instead of properly working graphics support my computer wouldn't boot past the login screen. When I typed my login credentials the screen flashed to a terminal output for a split second, but to fast to read. After this it just returned to the login screen again. To reproduce the bug I think you need a fresh install of the xubuntu beta 1. After installing update it to the newest packages (19/09/2011). After this I enabled the xorg-edgers ppa, and updated the x packages to all the newest available updates (19/09/2011). Finally I installed the proprietary ati fglrx driver, which resulted in the bug as described above. If there's more information required to trace the bug, feel free to contact me, and I will try to carry out the things you tell me to try. While the orig. bug was filed on a 32 bit desktop am currently using a 32 bit install on a laptop just booted to todays daily 64 bit Installed vlc, tried to open the playlist easily seen.
