[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 854445] [NEW] Asus ep121 (eee slate) touchscreen not working
Public bug reported: The Asus ep121 touchscreen is a two-finger (at the time) eGalax multitouch screen 0xeef:0xa001. It should function as such but does not. The pointers movement and position are relative and not absolute, like a giant laptop touchpad. The hardware logs say it is a touchpad and load the Synaptics module for it. Touching the screen causes a constant mouse wheel up issue as well as removing the ability to click even with a real mouse. The computer is unusable in this state until rebooted. There are a number of workarounds for other eGalax touchscreens such as http://samiux.blogspot.com/2011/04/howto-ubuntu-1104-on-gigabyte-touchnote.html but nothing works. These issues occur on 10.10, 11.04, and the 11.10 beta released sept. 1. In the 11.10 beta, blacklisting the synaptics module allows the touchscreen to work with absolute coordinates but bad calibration. It also registers a constant left mouse button pressed event after being touched. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/854445 Title: Asus ep121 (eee slate) touchscreen not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/854445/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 854500] Re: Only Unity2D running, normal unity was fine in Natty
** Description changed: So, this might have to do with some previous tinkering I've done with my system; during the Natty cycle I have, among other things, had Gnome3 installed from the Gnome-team PPA, and also once followed a now-forgotten instruction to disable the NVidia graphics card and sololy run on the Intel card (Dual graphics card setup is the only really annoying shortcoming in Ubuntu compared to Win 7). Does it behave properly with both pressure and tilt based line width? -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799202 Title: wacom stylus jumps with latest xserver-xorg-core Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: Wacom input jumps while drawing with xserver-xorg-core version 2:1.10.1-1ubuntu1.1 It is working correctly with version 2:1.10.1-1ubuntu1. This issue is somehow related to issue #762938 (no pressure sensitivity with wacom tablet). A fix for pressure sensitivity was proposed by Chase Douglas in the utouch-team/unstable ppa. Using the official ubuntu Qt version, stylus position works fine, but pressure sensitivity does not work. When using Chase Douglas's ppa, pressure works fine, but the cursor position jumps while drawing. Note that the issue only happens when using the wacom stylus that is pressure sensitive, not when using the wacom mouse that has no pressure. As previously said, the jumping cursor issue disappears if I downgrade xserver-xorg-core to version 1.10.1-1ubuntu1 The bug can be seen in Krita, when drawing a line, the cursor jumps, a picture showing the problem can be seen here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/799202/+attachment/2174502/+files/pressure_bug.png I can reproduce the issue on a tablet pc with touch sensitive screen and a desktop pc with usb Wacom tablet. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 854986] [NEW] 5 second delay between Xorg starting and the greeter starting (Dell Latitude E6410)
Public bug reported: I've been looking at our session startup time this week, and I've got one of the big delays right down already (bug 854101). However, the next biggest offender is Xorg (when starting a 2d session) - there appears to be a ~5s delay between Xorg starting and the greeter loading. You can see this in the bootchart attached. Looking at the timestamps in my Xorg.0.log shows a pretty big delay just here: [15.583] (II) intel(0): Initializing HW Cursor [18.030] (II) intel(0): RandR 1.2 enabled, ignore the following RandR disabled message. 18 seconds matches up perfectly on the bootchart with the lightdm greeter starting. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Hi Seth, I'm quite happy with your driver. As long as it works, all is wonderful. Unfortunately, however, at times it won't work after a reboot (touchpad not recognized -- no reaction of mouse cursor). The only thing that helps then (at least most of the times - sometimes I have to do it a few times) is taking out the battery for a few minutes. Then everything works fine again until that problem occurs again. I hope you'll get this fixed as you have already done an awesome job on the driver. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 661248] Re: Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT doesn't work with nvidia-current 260
Hi I also have FL90 and this problem. The last kernel I've been using without problems was 2.6.34. The next one was 2.6.36 and this one were generating errors. I couldn't load nvidia driver. It was random, I had to reboot two or three times to start properly. Now it's pernament. For quite a long time I've been using 2.6.34 kernel and installing the newest driver from source and it was working. On some web page I've found solution which works for me. echo 1 /sys/bus/pci/devices/\:01\:00.0/remove echo 1 /sys/bus/pci/rescan After that I can load driver and start X. lspci -vvvxxx before and after gives results simmilar to that from Thomas Keil attachments I attach whole lspci -vvvxxx output, maybe it will help -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/661248 Title: Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT doesn't work with nvidia-current 260 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/system76/+bug/661248/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

If you need any more information about that issue, let me know. I haven't seen this; I'll try to reproduce. Again, please provide dmesg when this is happening. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 799202] Re: wacom stylus jumps with latest xserver-xorg-core
My guess is that although we now are getting the right data into the right properties, Qt probably is not keeping track of the unchanged valuator values. So, if an event comes in with a valuator range of [1,1] (which implies that only the Y valuator changed), then Qt needs to copy the old X, pressure, and tilt values into the newly created Qt event. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799202 Title: wacom stylus jumps with latest xserver-xorg-core To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/799202/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 855133] [NEW] Xrandr probing slow
Public bug reported: Starting with Ubuntu's kernel 2.6.39-0.5, xrandr probing takes a couple of seconds with only one output connected (internal LCD of ThinkPad T510). This probing also negatively influences lightdm (see bug 828112). Comment #11 in that bug report suggests to ignore HDMI outputs via xorg.conf, which actually restores the behavior of older kernels and - running 'xrandr' becomes a lot faster. + running 'xrandr' becomes a lot faster (in my case it's sufficient to + just ignore HDMI1).
