[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 755791] Re: [RS690M] No 3d acceleration in Radeon X1200 with new Gallium r300 / 3d drivers in 11.04

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 753144] Re: focused, or maximized windows blank
For me upgrading to oneiric solved the issue, but please note I am using xubuntu (XFCE). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Hello, Seth It's me again, still trying to get good diagnostic output for the driver. I have 2 files attached here, as you ask for. In the previous post, I said that sometimes the mouse flies off to the top left, and you asked if perhaps I'm touching the left part of the touchpad. I've been checking. Definitely, I'm not touching the left side. That still happens intermittently. And here's the weirdest part. If I plug in a USB mouse and keyboard, sometimes the cursor flies about wild up to the left, even if I don't touch the touchpad at all. Just using the mouse does that. The other weird problem is periodic "sluggishness". Sometimes touching the pad just doesn't move the pointer much. Sometimes it will stay sluggish for a long while and I modprobe the psmouse to shake it loose. But sometimes it goes away after 5 or 10 seconds. I don't see any pattern in it. I've been trying to get diagnostic output for those moments. I change to the VT1 and create the diagnostic files, but I fear the output will not help you because the sluggishness may be cured by the act of hitting Alt-Ctl-F1. I mean, by the time I get there and run input-events, I can't say for sure if the mouse is still sluggish or not. But I just have to rely on your best guess! On Debian, my kernel is 3.0.0-1-amd64 and the psmouse patch is version 10. ** Attachment added: "input-events diagnstics for psmouse" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/550625/+attachment/2591485/+files/psmouseDiagnosis.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550625 Title: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/550625/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 877789] Re: Choppy Audio After Upgrade To 11.10
I have been having the same symptoms Cristian described. I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 on a Dell Latitude E6520 (dual-boot with Windows 7 Enterprise). At first audio and video were fine, but now I get no audio, and video skips in "hiccups" every few seconds. All multimedia exhibits these symptoms, not just Flash. It did not coincide with any system updates that I recall. I have tried several workarounds/fixes recommended online, but none have had any apparent effect. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 771788] Re: nVidia driver activated and apparently being used but reported as not being used by jockey-gtk

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 771788] Re: nVidia driver activated and apparently being used but reported as not being used by jockey-gtk
Hi Allessandro, three years is not an age for a graphiccard!! more than 10 years would be something, where I would say this is old. But not in your case as well as mine. My Laptop is also only nearly two years old. And for a Notebook, this is also not a real age!!! I experienced the same problem with my Graphiccard, I posted in LinuxMint 9. So I had to install this ppa-repository and that helped me out of a mess with my nvidia-card. For me, the display-resolution was way to big in that former release of LinuxMint. But since this new driver has been publised, I do not have these problems anymore. And on this link they also write that it can be possible, that LinuxMint, Ubuntu and its derivates do not support such so new cards properly and that's why this ppa-repository is really recommended. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 776466] Re: no display with acer aspire 7715
Hey Bryce, The bug was a little to anoying to ignore, and I met some other issues with natty (ie no stable VPN connection to a certain cisco based network), that I gave up after a couple of months, and did the brave thing to downgrade to 10.04 LTS. Its not the most straight-forward thing to do, and it gave me some amount of hassle, but with the community based information I managed it. So three cheers to any-one who participated in documenting a down-grade (and that it is possibel to downgrade really shows how well thought an OS we are dealing with here), and good luck with development. I cant say I am willing to try and install oneiric, since I am running out of primary partitions on this particular machine. Please feel free to close the bug, alas marked as unresolved. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 771788] Re: nVidia driver activated and apparently being used but reported as not being used by jockey-gtk
that's strange then. Because for me after installing LinuxMint or either Ubuntu (right now) on my Notebook, it went well in the first try. For me it works really fine. Then you should really think about changing your graphiccard. Mine is this one: 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C79 [GeForce 9200M G] (rev b1) And this one works fine for me. Then the next hint for you would be to install this ppa-repository here: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Grafikkarten/Nvidia/nvidia?highlight=ubuntu-x-swat Perhaps this could solve your problem. It could be possible, that your card is too new to be properly supported by the older versions of the nvidia-driver. This ppa-repository brings a newer one, which should work fine for you. Or if you have already installed it, then purge this ppa-repository and run these commands in your terminal sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Let these commands run through completely. Then afterwards, try to install the proprietary nvidia- driver. Tell me, if these hints help you with your problem. Greetings Linuxexperte Perhaps if you change your graphiccard?? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 852812] Re: [gm45] GPU lockup render.IPEHR: 0x78080003
Good morning, This bug does still exist. After about an hour of testing, my tester's game-play was ended by a GUP hang (see attached terminal output). Before this was reproduced, there was a similar problem, which may or may not be related. Because I have no idea what happened, I'll talk about it here. While the tester was playing, the X server crashed, and the screen switched to a TTY-like session with kernel messages about the error, and the kernel seems to have completely crashed. I believe that the kernel crashed because the computer was taking no input. I couldn't switch TTY Sessions or anything, I just had to do a hard reboot. Because I had no X server, the only valuable output I could get was by taking pictures of the screen with my cell phone. I uploaded the images to my site here: http://jdgregson.com/temp/ubuntubug/ Hope this helps. I will post this same comment on the bug report on freedesktop.org, just to keep everything in sync. ** Attachment added: "dmesg.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/852812/+attachment/2590956/+files/dmesg.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/852812 Title: [gm45] GPU lockup render.IPEHR: 0x78080003 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/852812/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 808114] Re: Screen is unresponsive after wakeup from screensaver
I haven't seen this again since upgrading to 11.10. IMO, it's a tough call as to whether it's worth backporting. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 857938] Re: Endless GPU reset loop on wake from blanking screen
I'm not sure I'm ready to upgrade to oneiric just to test this bug. A full system upgrade seems somewhat risky and I'm still learning about the UI changeover. As I understand it, Oneiric no longer has Gnome classic. I have briefly tried the Oneiric Live CD. But, this problem is intermittent and I don't have a well defined way to reproduce it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/857938 Title: Endless GPU reset loop on wake from blanking screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/857938/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 787587] Re: Cannot change screen resolution on Dell Duo in Natty
@jm-leddy #17 1024x768 is a 4:3 resolution which does appear in the Displays dialogue and works "as expected", i.e. there are large vertical black stripes on both sides of the screen (since the screen itself is 16:9). I presume you actually meant to ask does the screen black when 1024x576 resolution is set using xrandr. Alas, since I have little knowledge of xrandr and jagosta mentions in #4 he "blindly" sets the resolution back, I am a bit afraid to try this by myself. However, I would be willing to test it with some instructions how to get a working screen back in case it blacks out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/787587 Title: Cannot change screen resolution on Dell Duo in Natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/787587/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 507062] Re: synaptic assert failure: synaptic: ../../src/xcb_io.c:385: _XAllocID: Assertion `ret != inval_id' failed.
To clarify https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libx11/+bug/507062/comments/94, both bugs are duplicates of this and contain detailed descriptions, but only bug 887189 is in Precise. As a separate matter, it's interesting how, looking here and at public duplicates, this bug appears to happen far more often on i386 than amd64. There is, however, a Natty amd64 system (duplicate bug 736997), as well as a Maverick amd64 system that probably shouldn't be considered a duplicate (bug 659397), and even a Maverick powerpc system (duplicate bug 659060). ** Tags added: amd64 maverick powerpc -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libx11 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/507062 Title: synaptic assert failure: synaptic: ../../src/xcb_io.c:385: _XAllocID: Assertion `ret != inval_id' failed.
