[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 890438] Re: Wrong keyboard layout switching order when using more than two layouts
** Description changed: I'm using three keyboard layouts in Kubuntu 11.10 that installed in following order: 1) English (US); 2) Russian; 3) Ukrainian I found that several keyboard combinations to switch layouts has issues that makes working with system, especially with texts, very uncomfortable. The main issue is that switching procedure differs from manner in which keyboard layout installed but there are some other issues too. Next I'm describing in detail all the combinations and found issues. Alt + Caps Lock – with Right Alt + Caps Lock it stops switching on last layout – UA. Alt + Ctrl — 1) with Left Alt + Left Ctrl is wrong switching order (US-UA-RU); 2) with Right Alt + Right Ctrl is right switching order but it stops switching on last layout - UA Alt + Shift — 1) with Left Alt+ Left Shift is wrong switching order (US-UA-RU); 2) with Right Alt + Right Shift is right switching order but it stops switching on last layout – UA. Alt + Space – with Right Alt + Space it stops switching on last layout – UA. Caps Lock (to first layout), Shift+Caps Lock (to last layout) – Shift+Caps Lock switching to RU but must to UA as UA is the last layout. Ctrl + Shift – with Left Ctrl+ Left Shift and with Right Ctrl + Left Shift is wrong switching order (US-UA-RU) Left Ctrl (to first layout), Right Ctrl (to last layout) – Right Ctrl switching to RU, but must to UA, as UA is the last layout. Both Alt`s – not works if first Left Alt and then Right Alt pressed (if first pressed Right Alt and then Left Alt - it works) Both Ctrl`s – not works if first Left Ctrl and then Right Ctrl pressed (if first pressed Right Ctrl and then Left Ctrl - it works) Both Shift's – wrong order if first right Shift pressed and than left Shift (US-UA-RU) (if first left Shift pressed and than right – right order) Right Alt – it stops switching on last layout – UA. Ctrl+Alt+K. This combination is not working at all. When I press it, the list of layouts, that we can see clicking by right mouse button, changes the view like in picture in attachment (layout.png). + + P.S. This bug also affects Ubuntu. ** Description changed: - I'm using three keyboard layouts in Kubuntu 11.10 that installed in following order: + I'm using three keyboard layouts in Kubuntu 11.10 (but it also affects Ubuntu, I checked it) that installed in following order: 1) English (US); 2) Russian; 3) Ukrainian I found that several keyboard combinations to switch layouts has issues that makes working with system, especially with texts, very uncomfortable. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 770082] Re: missing 10-wacom.conf
It is true a number of users reported using DoctorMO's ( Martin Owens) PPA: https://launchpad.net/~doctormo/+archive/wacom-plus and then ending up with a non-functional tablet due to a missing 10-wacom.conf. I assumed that a update of the PPA shortly after the hypothetical problem update had incorporated the packaging error. I reasoned it couldn't be the PPA responsible for the missing configuration file because the majority of users reported only having installed vanilla Lucid plus official updates. I recall looking at the PPA at the time and not spotting a problem there either. And yes, it has been a long, long time since I installed the default Lucid xf86-input-wacom-0.10.5. It is just so early in xf86-input-wacom development. And as you know the 0.10.x tree was for code reorganization and not really intended for users. The 0.11.x tree was originally the series intended for widespread user use/testing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-input-wacom in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/770082 Title: missing 10-wacom.conf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/770082/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 882710] Re: Dual monitors randomly black out, might be linked to switching workspaces
Sorry about that :-) But the DVI thing is interesting (although it won't be a monitor problem if both screens die) Do you have one of those DVI to VGA adapters that come with the graphics card, if so can you try with just the VGA monitor, but through that. Also, what about unity 2D, have you tried this ? Sorry for all this, I'm confirming this in X thanks to the separate X screen problems (and I have the same card) ** Also affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/882710 Title: Dual monitors randomly black out, might be linked to switching workspaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/jockey/+bug/882710/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 890890] [NEW] Corruption of images in Java applets after update to Oneiric
Public bug reported: After upgrading Oneiric, some of the images and buttons in Java Applets are corrupted. I have the same version of Ubuntu and Java on my desktop with no issues, so I'm guessing it's an updated graphics driver causing the problem. I installed Java 6 JRE from Oracle because OpenJDK wasn't working. However, I have did this on both of my machines, and only my laptop has the problem. I tried re-installing the whole OS again, and then re-installing Java right after, but that didn't fix it. Interestingly, System Info reports the graphics as unknown, but lspic detects it correctly. I've attached a screen shot of the applet. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 745112] Re: [arrandale] desktop is messed up with external monitors (x86_64)
OK, so kernel 3.2.0-030200rc1 seems to consistently behave like this: * boot up an x201 docked with dp connected to an external monitor * grub appears on both screens * plymouth appears on both screens * lightdm appears on both screens in low-res mirrored mode * unity session comes up with both screens blank * fn-f7 can get it back to mirrored mode * trying to switch to the external monitor does not work What does work is, from the displays panel: * turn on both in mirrored mode * then turn off mirrored mode, but leave the external panel at a low resolution * set it to 1920x1440, and apply * then change to 2560x1600 and apply so there is some path-dependency: full resolution will only work if you previously set it to a lower resolution. i hope that helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745112 Title: [arrandale] desktop is messed up with external monitors (x86_64) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/745112/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 655761] Re: [gm45] caps-lock light got inverted meaning
Env: Oneiric, daily updates, Unity My caps lock light is occasionally inverted as well. I typically use an external keyboard. Pressing caps lock on the external keyboard does not toggle the light, but does toggle the caps lock text entry. Therefore, when the indicator meaning is inverted, one can press the caps lock key on the external keyboard to synchronize the indicator and caps lock. I don't know my caps lock indicator becomes inverted. An inadvertently keypress (i.e., human error) is possible, but it happens more often than I might expect for that cause. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655761 Title: [gm45] caps-lock light got inverted meaning To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/655761/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
