[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 956208] Re: Screen corruption on AMD with Radeon driver
The llvmpipe CPU gallium driver nowadays supports OpenGL quite well, although it seems it's not yet correct enough for Unity. VMWare is mentioned as the vendor since they've (probably) done most of the llvmpipe driver work, so they get the credit. The key problem is that fglrx driver was in use, and radeon driver was tried to be temporarily used instead. Removing the fglrx driver has a long history of not working too well - I'm not sure about the current situation - and at least it needs to be completely removed/purged before trying out radeon driver, because of the diversions it makes to move normal Mesa OpenGL libraries away from usage. So, two issues: 1. llvmpipe should be probably blacklisted for Unity for 12.04, forcing to Unity 2D. Even if it would work, it'd mean something's wrong for ati/nvidia/intel users that should use GPU ccelerated drivers. 2. fglrx may need some fixing, although in this specific case some additional questions need to be answered: a) was fglrx removed using Jockey or by manually removing the package (just to collect data, there is no valid reason why both shouldn't work, but with the manual method purge must be used), b) was the computer rebooted in between (both NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx and dmesg indicate the module being loaded, possibly interfering) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/956208 Title: Screen corruption on AMD with Radeon driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/956208/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 948938] Re: Mouse input (warp and clipping) broken in Wine 1.4rc6
The problem is that the patch doesn't allow for any acceleration or clipping that X normally supplies, so it is unlikely to be committed. If you are having trouble building wine on ubuntu 12.04, there are some workarounds you can try that I detailed in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/949606. One of them is to install all the i386 dev libraries that you need, even though it breaks amd64 compilation (you can reverse the process afterwards). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xinput in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948938 Title: Mouse input (warp and clipping) broken in Wine 1.4rc6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xinput/+bug/948938/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 851612] Re: Logging out from a FUS session does not reliably return to VT7
The attachment lightdm_patch_for_oneiric.debdiff of this bug report has been identified as being a patch in the form of a debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event that this is in fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by removing the tag 'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment so that it is not flagged as a patch. Additionally, if you are member of the ubuntu- sponsors team please also unsubscribe the team from this bug report. [This is an automated message performed by a Launchpad user owned by Brian Murray. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 918791] Re: qemu-kvm dies when using vmvga driver and unity in the guest
@Martin, No - Im still not sure about its responsibilities, so I don't know whether it's deemed a bug that it is using negative values, but certainly (virtualized) hardware shouldn't crash due to it, so that's where we're fixing it. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 957298] [NEW] Mouse is very slow after starting a session on Precise
Public bug reported: I made a fresh install of Precise on a Lenovo X200 a couple weeks ago. Marc, thanks. Can you do a bit more experimentation? It's possible only one of the outputs are causing the problem, or else only the DP or only the HDMI. Can you test dropping those sections one by one to see which are actually required? Also, you told me on irc that it doesn't have any displayport connectors wired up. Are there any HDMI ports? Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a regular (non-security) bug. When did this behavior first start? Does it occur all the time, or are there steps to reproduce it, or does it just happen randomly? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 939770] Re: package nvidia-current 295.20-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Alright, I think it's not a bug in the nvidia driver, but more of a general problem with installing onto a usb stick. In oneiric we saw an issue where it'd fail because it couldn't update the bootloader on a usb stick. I think that got sorted out. There was also an issue with running out of disk space when installing proprietary drivers on usb sticks, that the installer didn't handle. I don't know if that got sorted out, but assume so. Anyway, not really sure where this bug should go next for troubleshooting, so just going to bump it to the ubuntu queue. ** Package changed: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) = ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/939770 Title: package nvidia-current 295.20-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/939770/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
