[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 983910] Re: Touchpad scrolling doesn't work occasionally with Nautilus
I can confirm what James says above. Versions up through ubuntu4 work fine, but the latest version (ubuntu5) produces the behavior described in the bug and the comments. There is a noticeable difference in the coasting speed between the two versions, which suggests that this patch may be the culprit, as it's an obvious change from ubuntu4. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/983910 Title: Touchpad scrolling doesn't work occasionally with Nautilus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/983910/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 985065]
not sure why there's a double-space between 'fr' and 'oss' there. Might be relevant? It is not a double space, it is a tab char IIRC. ++ xkb_symbols { include pc+fr(oss)+us:2+inet(evdev) }; g-s-d always adds system layout - from gdm. So if your gdm has 'us' layout, it is added as a 2nd one. I just wonder where you lost the compose(ralt) option... Could you please attach 2 results: 1. Configure fr(oss) in normal gnome way, add 'us' as a 2nd layout (all through GUI). Then, do xkbcomp :0 -xkb out_gnome.xkb 2. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 986576] [NEW] NVidia Driver (7150M) is broken after beta2 updates
Public bug reported: I have HP Pavilion dv6500 with NVidia 7150M. After installing Beta2 and updates the desktop does not work anymore. Unity breaks - no bar, no panel, nothing. You have been subscribed to a public bug: When I plug in my external monitor, the image on the laptop (Dell Latitude D620) and on the monitor (Lenovo L220x) is corrupted. Mostly it goes black with some white diagonal blocks. See screenshot. The problem occurs irrespective of whether Unity or Ubuntu Classic desktop is used. Using the laptop's LCD switcher key sometimes has no effect and sometimes completely hangs the system to the point of a hard-reset is required. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 901630] Re: multitouch + qt doesn't work (eg fingerpaint demo) with wacom serial touchscreen
I had a similar issue and yes: sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-input-wacom changes the behaviour. Previously, SettingsInput DevicesTrackpad showed no devices. Now, it shows my Wacom CTT-460. Also, mtdev-test still fails as above but geisttest seems to show the device working with pinches. (geisview fails because gtk is not installed.) Other sources say that the kernel module named wacom, a *driver*, is distinct from the *Xorg input driver* named xserver-xorg-input-wacom. Also, the kernel module named evdev is distinct from the Xorg input driver named similarly. I don't understand the difference, but /var/log/dmesg still shows a wacom driver being used for my device. I am running kubuntu 12.4b. My best guess it is an architectural issue: client vs server. I recall that Ubuntu is moving multitouch and gesture recognition to the client side (the windowing system and application, more or less) from the server side (Xorg, the X11 server.) IOW the Xorg input driver named evdev passes raw multitouch events on to the client (Qt) instead of interpreting them??? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-input-wacom in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901630 Title: multitouch + qt doesn't work (eg fingerpaint demo) with wacom serial touchscreen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/901630/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 759331] Re: Right-clicking doesn't work on HP ProBook 4520s using trackpad
Dylan Taylor, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. ** Description changed: Right-clicking doesn't work at all in Ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04 when using the built-in trackpad on the HP ProBook 4520s.
