[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 878904] Re: Touchpad stops working after using system for a few minutes
this is likely not kernel bug, see here: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+question/176273 my guess is the touchpad gets disabled by syndaemon and for some reason fails to get re-enabled. synclient/xinput being able to re-enable the mouse speaks for this, also for me the touchpad continued to work on console with gmp. ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) = xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878904 Title: Touchpad stops working after using system for a few minutes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/878904/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 982771] Re: Scrolling stops working in GTK3 scrolled windows after some time
I commented on a bug that was a duplicate to this one, so I'll carry my findings over here. I've tested versions 0ubuntu3 and 0ubuntu4 and neither has the problem. It seems to have been introduced in 0ubuntu5 (the current version), and it seems to be related to some changes to coasting speed. There is a noticeable difference between 0ubuntu4 and 0ubuntu5 in regards to coasting, so something was definitely changed and I believe this is likely where the problem lies. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982771 Title: Scrolling stops working in GTK3 scrolled windows after some time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/982771/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 987720] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: After upgrading to 12.04 (beta), my Apple cinematic display hasn't been working correctly. Booting and splash screen works normally, but at the end of the boot the screen goes black. This doesn't happen all the the time -- I managed to boot correctly once, another time I got to gnome login before then screen froze. My current workaround is to boot older kernel (the one used in 11.10, 3.0.x). Since this is my work machine, I haven't had time to debug more thoroughly, so I don't know if the problem lies in nvidia drivers, kernel or x.org. At the moment, we use a less than satisfactory kick-scanline-waits should the GPU hang during the modeset. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 936552] Re: MacBookAir 4, 1 trackpad does not work with evdev/multitouch driver
It's not really a separate touchpad, it's a /dev/input/mouseX device registered by the mousedev driver for the same touchpad, kind of a legacy mouse device for applications that need that sort of thing. It's there in the good and bad case, and X seems to be (correctly) ignoring it. I think you may be onto something with the keyboard remove being related. I don't know what's going on, and I don't see it on my MBA 4,1, but dmesg does show usbhid devices disappearing and reappearing about 18 seconds after boot. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 763052] Re: Ubuntu can't boot on nvidia GeForce GT240 with nouveau drivers
Now I can positively confirm, that the problem was given by a Nouveau driver. According to the receipt #19, I removed the Nouveau driver, restarted for sure, allowed the Nvidia propriety driver (to run Ubiquity in 3D), and everything is going fine now. I was just confused by the install parameter, which made no sense to me, but I trusted for a while, until I decided to uninstall it. Thanks a lot!!! Anyway, the bug still persisted until yesterday, and if there is some priority to make the Nouveau driver run with this card, I would be really happy to help as a testing case. Don't hesitate to contact me on o.petris$volny.cz (with some patience, it takes sometimes some days for me to check mails. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/763052 Title: Ubuntu can't boot on nvidia GeForce GT240 with nouveau drivers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nouveau/+bug/763052/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 970438] Re: Mouse pointer stops responding without known trigger
my theory is that it is related to syndaemon disabling the touchpad, because: 1. touchpad operation can be resumed by synclient and xinput cli tools 2. rmmod psmouse modprobe psmouse also works, but likely because that reloads the synaptics driver 3. gpm driver continues to work in a console while touchpad is disabled in X 4. people have reporded that removing the disable touchpad while typing option from mouse settings is a workaround for this see these: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/878904 https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+question/176273 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970438 Title: Mouse pointer stops responding without known trigger To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/970438/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 977334] Re: external screen is filled with random color when primary screen is off during logon on MacBook Air4, 1
Screenshot attached, it looks perfectly normal. But there was no actual picture on the monitor when PtrScr was pressed, only backlight and same random color on all pixels. Next actions bring screen to normal: a. If lid was closed when starting session: Open lid, wait ~3 second, picture appears and both monitors are fine. If lid closed now, both screens goes off but external one re-appears after keyboard or mouse activity or lid opening. b. If screen was opened when starting session: Close lid, wait ~3 second, both screens goes off but external one re-appears after keyboard or mouse activity or lid opening. ** Attachment added: Screenshot from 2012-04-24 22:36:10.jpg https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/977334/+attachment/3102452/+files/Screenshot%20from%202012-04-24%2022%3A36%3A10.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/977334 Title: external screen is filled with random color when primary screen is off during logon on MacBook Air4,1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/977334/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
