[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 980519] Re: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 973096 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/973096 Same here, also Nvidia. However, there are 2 users defined on my computer. With my login, I have never encountered the problem since I upgraded 2 months ago but my daughter, who has her own user account, experiences this very often. So same machine, but only one user is affected. The only difference between the two accounts is the language setting. If I login, the PC runs in English, but when she logs in it runs in Dutch. In terms of programs used, we both watch you tube and other flash based movies. I have the same problem on a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. It occasionally did that on 11.10, but since the 12.04 upgrade, it does it virtually every time. Note that this week I installed 12.04 from scratch to see if it improves it, but the situation is still the same. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1000944] Re: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
We're closing this bug since there has not been a response from the original reporter. However, the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. If you're not the original reporter, we'd prefer you file a new bug report. Some tips: * Report X.org bugs via the command: `ubuntu-bug xorg` * Test against the latest development Ubuntu. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/ Bugs marked as affecting the development version tend to get priority attention. * The `xdiagnose` utility has functionality for enabling debugging and analyzing a few common X problems. * Tag your bugs with the Ubuntu versions you have reproduced the issue in. * See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting for tips on writing good bug reports. ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1000944 Title: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1000944/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1004843] Re: cant boot after installing fglrx on ubuntu 12.04
Thanks for reporting, but this is not a bug with fglrx. This happens because you are using a custom Xserver from a PPA. The version of fglrx (8.960) found in Ubuntu Precise/12.04 does not support Xserver 1.12.x You'll either need to revert to the Xserver found in the Precise repository or install the Catalyst 12-6 beta (which adds Xserver 1.12 support): http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_itempx=MTExMTU ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1004843 Title: cant boot after installing fglrx on ubuntu 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1004843/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1013167] [NEW] Recursive apport message GPU lockup EIR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00100000 after login
Public bug reported: On each boot after login I get - after 30 seconds to 2 mintes - an apport message about a gpu lockup which never occured: GPU lockup EIR: 0x0010 PGTBL_ER: 0x0010 There are similar bug reports around with same or similar number but slightly different circumstances so I decided to file a new bug because I read in bug report documentation that for X issues this is the prefered method if not sure about the cause. I have two laptops (Dell Latitude E-5500 with the same hardware). On one the error was also there at the beginning but then accidently disappeared. Second one - fresh install - now gets the same error message. E.g. Bug #981297 is such a similar bug. It is very likely a fake message because everything looks fine - GPU is working and did not crash or freeze.
