[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1045000] Re: Wacom touchscreen in HP tm2 laptop not works in Ubuntu 12.10
I'm trying Anton's suggestion of installing 3.6 now. I will report back to confirm whether this solves the issue. Anton, do you have a source for your statement? That may help people identify the right changeset and maybe backport it to 3.5. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-wacom in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1045000 Title: Wacom touchscreen in HP tm2 laptop not works in Ubuntu 12.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evdev/+bug/1045000/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 812594] Re: HP USB Graphics Adapter (Displaylink) shows green screen
Spent some time testing openSuse, Ubuntu, Kubuntu based on 12.04 release and openSuse 11.4. Unfortunately I couldn't get Fedora 17 working as described in this article http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_itempx=MTA5NjY None of them was able to display more than green screen. Using hints from this topic I made one of diplaylink screens to get xlogin and xdesktop, though size was limited to 320x240. IMO source of problem is located in X sever, which is unable to handle screen coordinates split between different kernel drivers. Xinerama in this case seems to not work. Seems also that xrandr ignores existence of udflb devices. That's why manual edit of xorg.conf or files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d gives partial success, sometimes. Newer distributions are more difficult to handle, as thought to be automatic thanks to xrandr. BTW: on Kubuntu12.04 nVidia Xserver writes its own xorg.conf making xrandr for read only. I'm waiting for Ubuntu 12.10 having xserver-xorg-video-displaylink removed from distro. Maybe problem is solved there? In the meantime I'm going to test Linux Mint 13 with KDE. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 926714] Re: continuous jerky mouse movements while using nouveau driver in 12.04
I am also affected by this bug, but I have radeon graphics on my desktop (Kubuntu 12.04, Intel i750, Radeon 4890). I had the same problem in Kubuntu 11.10 and also in Ubuntu 11.10 - it was one of the reasons why I used Catalyst before (it was not affected). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 721471] Re: evdev is not compatible to QT-applications when using tablets
@Alexei, This bug is not related to that bug. The problem is related with this bug in Qt: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-25329 There is a simple workaroun that solves the problem by modifying the src/gui/kernel/qapplication_x11.cpp file in qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.8.1.tar.gz source. I think the package in Kubuntu is libqtcore4 (qt4-x11): http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=139t=98347 In the Krita forum, in page 1 and 2 they discuss the workaround. This bug causes that if you use a non-Wacom graphics tablet, the stylus pressure sensitivity not working in Qt programs (Krita, pencil). If xorg could just get a patch to look to the usb bus as well as the pci bus then these display devices might work better. The problem I'm having with 12.04.1LTS are: 1) the displaylink device only works with the Intel integrated graphics. Both nVidia and AMD proprietary drivers ignore the displaylink device 2) with the displaylink Intel graphics combination you must set the vgascreen to LeftOf the displaylink device in xorg.conf otherwise Unity goes completely wonky splitting the screen into 3 inequal parts then opening windows off screen not under the mouse. 3) lightdm surprisingly doesn't have too much trouble with the DisplayLink device. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-displaylink in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/812594 Title: HP USB Graphics Adapter (Displaylink) shows green screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-displaylink/+bug/812594/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Those two screenshotss show a flickering, that very often appears on windows. On 12.04.1 you would instead see a pulsating window while the process seems to not respond for a moment. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 992391] Re: [i915] xserver freeze on switching VGA1/LVDS1
I have experienced this bug on my laptop with every version of Ubuntu since 11.04 at least (I'm not certain if it occurred in 10.10). For this reason I am still running 10.04 where it does not occur. It also happens in Kubuntu and in Fedora 17. I have my laptop lugged into an external monitor via HDMI most of the time. The problem usually starts when I switch to just the external display, with the laptop screen off. Behaviour appears normal for a few second to a couple of minutes. Then the mouse and keyboard stop responding, and eventuall y the screen will flash and go dark. Sometimes I am able to switch to a non-X terminal and do a soft restart. Other times I will not be able to do that and have to just power down. My Xorg log is attached. My background is Java not C, but I'm more than happy to try to provide extra info or run tests if that would be helpful. *-display:0 description: VGA compatible controller product: Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2 bus info: pci@:00:02.0 version: 0c width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: bus_master cap_list rom configuration: driver=i915 latency=0 resources: irq:29 memory:fea0-feaf memory:e000-efff(prefetchable) ioport:eff8(size=8) *-display:1 UNCLAIMED description: Display controller product: Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2.1 bus info: pci@:00:02.1 version: 0c width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: bus_master cap_list configuration: latency=0 resources: memory:feb0-febf agpgart31724 2 drm,intel_agp drm 163779 3 i915,drm_kms_helper drm_kms_helper 29329 1 i915 i2c_algo_bit5028 1 i915 i915 290035 2 intel_agp 24375 2 i915 output 1871 1 video vga16fb11385 0 vgastate8961 1 vga16fb video 17375 1 i915 bruce@mars:~$ uname -a Linux mars 2.6.32-41-generic #91-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 13 11:44:43 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992391 Title: [i915] xserver freeze on switching VGA1/LVDS1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/992391/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1051403] [NEW] jittery mouse
Public bug reported: When using the xorg intel_drv display driver, my mouse is jittery. That is, as I drag it mouse across my desk the cursor jumps from position to position on the screen instead of moving across the screen smoothly. This does not happen when I pass in the nomodeset kernel param (which forces X to fall back to the the vesa driver). I've tried other distros as well (gentoo, redhat) and I have experienced the same behavior. I think the position of the stripe depends on the resolution of the picture. If the resolution is high the stripe is located close to the top, if it's medium the stripe is in the middle. If the resolution is low then there is no black stripe. Please take a look at the sample images. I used the printscreen button to create the eog version of the images. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 948053] Re: nvidia-173 and nvidia-96 uninstallable on Precise
who tried the new nvidia96 drivers? im using the new release and i have a little more higher FPS (363 FPS against 235 of nouveau) maybe a faster performance but some visualization problems in firefox, for example in ubuntu forum pages and youtube search field is bit flickering; also in Totem, when i play mp3, the visual effects are shown with a line cutting the field from top right to bottom left. im using nvidia geforce2 mx400 also im using gnome-classic (no effect), because with effect, the frames of the windows arn't visible (with nouveau was working fine) just another question: if i want to uninstall package libgl1-mesa-dri (it give 3D support for nouveau), it ask me to remove also xorg and ubuntu-desktop; should i leave installed, or should i remove from non- graphic mode and then reinstall xorg and ubuntu-desktop? ps: about my comment #121 i managed to set the best resolution for my monitor adding a metamode in nvidia-settings -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948053 Title: nvidia-173 and nvidia-96 uninstallable on Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/948053/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 47793] Re: DRI module load fails (undefined symbol: _glapi_Dispatch)
Had the same problem on Quantal Quetzal (beta, x86_64). DRI modules would not load. In my case it was r600_dri.so I found the modules in: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri That directory is not on the path searched by libgl when it tries to load the modules. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 980519] Re: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
I did update yesterday (14th September) and after that when I try to start Firefox, Thunderbird or Details, (12.04LTS) system logs out. I can start Libreoffice with no problem. Google earth shuts down but does not logout the system. I have old Intel +, nvidia+benq system. When I tried to fix the problem as #124 says and tried logout, there was messages about missing keyring password but logout did happen. Then I tried to change the resolution, disable network with no effect. Something odd looking was on login screen, resolution changed to high resolution but changed back to lower resolution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980519 Title: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/980519/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I downloaded the driver for 64bit ubuntu here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/47534 which is the official driver from nvidia and run it under graphic safe mode. Then reboot and it works fine. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1049460] Re: [Intel HD4000] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x01000000 IPEHR: 0x01000000
Hi Bryce - Two X sessions. I knew that description didn't seem good; I'll update it. I cannot reproduce it at will, or at all, so far. I've had problems a number of times when switching between two X sessions, but certainly in a minority of those events. Most of them I've considered bug 966744, happening when one session had been idle long enough for DPMS to kick in. X would stop displaying anything, but no crash or lockup triggered apport. I had a different strange problem yesterday, still under xserver-xorg- video-intel 2.20.6-0ubuntu1, where X slowed way down and eventually stopped responding. I haven't tried to file that, because, so far, no problems have happened yet under xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.20.7-0ubuntu1. Hoping the problems were transient. Happy to clarify these awkward descriptions as needed. Thanks! ** Description changed: - I had two different user sessions, running on two vts, when this crash - happened. This report was uploaded after a reboot. I could ssh into - the system, but the screen was black and unresponsive. Thanks. + I had two X sessions, for different user accounts, running when this + crash happened. This report was uploaded after a reboot. I could ssh + into the system, but the screen was black and unresponsive. Alt-Sysrq + attempts had no effect. Thanks.
