[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1057349] [NEW] Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Public bug reported: I get logged off from Ubuntu sometimes. There is no error message or any indication that it is going to log off. The screen goes black, and after 2-4 seconds, i get presented with the Ubuntu Log On Screen. There is no clear pattern (or at least if have not noticed any). One time i am working with Netbeans, another time i am using firefox. This also means that at present i can not clearly say what package might be causing this behaviour. This first started happening to me not more than a week ago. Symptoms are very similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/980519 I am using Module fglrxdrm: vendor=FireGL - ATI Technologies Inc. My system info is attached here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/980519/+attachment/3344430/+files/lshw.txt Are there any changes recently commited that could have caused this? I am using the up-to-date versions. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1057349 Title: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1057349/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

You have been subscribed to a public bug: I used the computer that this happened on about 2 hours before the bug occured, it worked Normally apart from loading grub a bit slow. So I turn it on and it gets to a screen that says something along the lines of there is a problem with the graphics or screen and I that they needed to be reconfigure manually. It had 4 choises, they were something along the lines of: - Run in failsafe graphics for just one session - Reconfigure video - Troubleshoot - Drop to root for login For the first option it would not load after saying 'Starting...' and would just hang there for a while For the second option I could reocnfiure from defualts of saved back-up. Neither worked and would flash back to the same window. The third option did something and showed me logs, failed to show a boot log. The fourth did the same as the first option. The bug disappeared after removing files from my home directory. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: bot-comment -- Graphics/screen error bug does not allow computer to loggon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1043636 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1056381] Re: error on x startup
Quoting Timo Aaltonen (tjaal...@ubuntu.com): I've added spice and spice-protocol to this bug for tracking the updates. Should we just move forward or do you think we need an FFe? I've asked on #ubuntu-release yesterday - FFE is not needed for qxl, and the feeling seemed to be that it's not needed for spice, though we should ask again. Sounds pretty much broken right now, so fixing it should be a priority despite the new version numbers :) Have you been able to build-test your suggestion, with a full new xserver and the full new qxl release? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-qxl in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1056381 Title: error on x startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/spice/+bug/1056381/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1057747] [NEW] Wallpaper
Public bug reported: Sometimes after continual use the wallpaper and sometimes the names after I go over an icon are displayed erroneously. Also, another thing is sometimes Ubuntu loads after restart to a screen saying press F to fix. It works after I press F but I prefer without that thing happening. Another thing is I have to click two times on Artha dictionary to start. The weather indicator stopped working. I cannot find the Show Desktop icon anymore. I prefer Ubuntu to have changing automatically wallpapers, like a slideshow. Can you add more themes? One time I had to restart two times after using Libre Office for longer. The attachment xterm.quantal.debdiff of this bug report has been identified as being a patch in the form of a debdiff. The ubuntu- sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event that this is in fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by removing the tag 'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment so that it is not flagged as a patch. Additionally, if you are member of the ubuntu- sponsors team please also unsubscribe the team from this bug report. [This is an automated message performed by a Launchpad user owned by Brian Murray. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1041790] Re: [sandybridge-m-gt2] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x0b160001 IPEHR: 0x0b140001
I've been using SNA for a couple of weeks now, and it doesn't seem to suffer from this particular bug. The bug still occurs in the latest xf86-video-intel driver from git (as of 27/9/12), though. It generally occurs when focus changes, eg when a menu or popup window is opening. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041790 Title: [sandybridge-m-gt2] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x0b160001 IPEHR: 0x0b140001 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1041790/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1055236] Re: glxinfo crashed with SIGSEGV in xcb_glx_query_server_string_string_length()
I don't think it's particularly useful to fix this; there can be, and are, arbitrary differences between the free libglx and the proprietary drivers' libglxes, any one of which could cause a mismatched client to crash. I don't think this is common enough to invest resources in to fix. ** Changed in: mesa-demos (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid ** Changed in: mesa-demos (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa-demos in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1055236 Title: glxinfo crashed with SIGSEGV in xcb_glx_query_server_string_string_length() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa-demos/+bug/1055236/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
