[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 938981] Re: Xorg freeze when starting Firefox
Ok, bad news. Had a severe crash on firefox today. Good news: Its the first crash that was reported in the system message log, see the excerpt at the end. First segfault in fglrx_dri.so happens at firefox startoff and has no consequences, firefox still firing up and running. Second crash rebooted GNOME (or maybe Xorg itsself?) Had the error-report strait after successfull boot. Don't know, if this is connected with a problem I experience since Kernels 3.4.0-15 and higher: I need in average 3 boots until unity starts properly. Systems sticks at some point during boot after authentication of dm-crypt (showing various text-messages). Usually (not always) starts then with Kernel 3.4.0-14. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 625934] Re: NVIDIA X Server Settings crash on changing GPU Scaling Method from sctretched to any other option
When ran from console it shows the following message: The program 'nvidia-settings' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'. (Details: serial 239 error_code 2 request_code 139 minor_code 19) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/625934 Title: NVIDIA X Server Settings crash on changing GPU Scaling Method from sctretched to any other option To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-settings/+bug/625934/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
