[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 745112] Re: [arrandale] desktop is messed up with external monitors (x86_64)
I'm not sure if I'm in the right place, but on my T61 + docking station I have an issue with desktop files/folders not being displayed correctly. With either VGA or DVI, everything works great but the files/folders in the Desktop/ folder are not constrained to the viewable area. They remain on the laptop monitor (can be dragged to the external monitor) but they are off the screen. "Organize Desktop by Name" has the same result. So, it seems that the area allocated to icons is bigger than the actual display. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745112 Title: [arrandale] desktop is messed up with external monitors (x86_64) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/745112/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1083790] Re: Connecting external monitor shows incorrect resolution on external screen and correct resolution on laptop screen
How's the testing gone? KVM boxes can do funky things with the monitor EDID. However, so far if I had to guess, it's sounding like the hotplug logic in gnome-settings-daemon isn't handling this case, since running xrandr --auto works. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1084842] Re: Crash in r600_dri.so while playing Call of Duty 4 with Wine
Null pointer deref apparently. ctx seems not to be null, so guessing it to be ctx->screen that holds the undefined pointer. static void evergreen_set_global_binding( struct pipe_context *ctx_, unsigned first, unsigned n, struct pipe_resource **resources, uint32_t **handles) { struct r600_context *ctx = (struct r600_context *)ctx_; struct compute_memory_pool *pool = ctx->screen->global_pool; /* <-- crashes here */ struct r600_resource_global **buffers = (struct r600_resource_global **)resources; A null ptr check would be easy enough to slip in there, but I'm not certain that would be a proper fix. This probably should be forwarded upstream. Looks like this code didn't change in 9.0.1, so presumably this bug existed previously as well. Had you found that setting up screen parameters had worked properly in the past, or was this just the first you've tried? ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Summary changed: - Crash in r600_dri.so while playing Call of Duty 4 with Wine + Crash in r600_dri:evergreen_set_global_binding while playing Call of Duty 4 with Wine -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084842 Title: Crash in r600_dri:evergreen_set_global_binding while playing Call of Duty 4 with Wine To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1084842/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I khow how they are before, and I can allays compare with my precise install. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
*Update* So I make the jump and install kernel 3.6.3-030603-generic 5 days ago. ( I use the instruction from here http://www.upubuntu.com/search/label/System) And also install a new Nvidia driver 3.04.64. For about 5 days I didn't have any crash untill about 5 minutes ago. Bummer. It crashed again. the same crash. Keyboard blinking. Then after a while finally reboots itself. Wow. This is very frustrating. This time it crashed while I was moving my mouse. I wasn't playing any movie or songs. Although I did play some streaming videos about an hour and again about 10 minutes before crashing. But nothing was playing when it crashed. h ubuntu sucks... (that statement is surprising coming from me... ) still hoping tho... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
