[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 995380] Re: X keyboard layout behavior changed after upgrade to Precise Pangolin
For me the issue was lightdm / unity-greeter not respecting /etc/default/keyboard, but using ~/.dmrc instead. That contained a wrong (old) keyboard layout. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995380 Title: X keyboard layout behavior changed after upgrade to Precise Pangolin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/995380/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1106090] [NEW] Display suddenly becomes a mess, rendering whole system unusable
Public bug reported: I have a laptop and use an external display connected to it, and I often switch screen using disper -s and disper -S. This issue happened little after (but _not_ immediately after) switching screen with disper -S. The screen suddenly became a total flockering mess with white dots, stripes, repeated or distorted pieces of graphics, flickerings, and all sort of frenetically changing garbage all over the screen. Behind this mess, the system appeared to keep working (I could open and close programs, if I could almost see what I was doing). Logging out didn't fix the issue; restarting did. I had never ever observed this in 12.04 and until now. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1102654] Re: [raring] full screen video crashes after Intel SNA enabled by default on dual monitor setup
Update: after the last xserver-xorg-video-intel update (2.20.19-0ubuntu3) both Steam and Totem work and even mplayer with vaapi (and now the subtitle shadow displays properly too) - all with dual monitors and SNA enabled ('m still using the Kernel installed via http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel- nightly/2013-01-24-raring/ though) . *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1064192 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1064192 I've linked yr bugreport to original driver-updata request. You may recognize it was asked for nvidia-settings there in accordance with the driver. These things should work automatically nowadays. Nvidia even supplies a separate settings version to go with each driver (since 2007): ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/nvidia-settings/ This shouldn't be to hard to find for a dev... [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1106263] [NEW] second machine logs with bug #1020051 xorg freeze
Public bug reported: here comes the data from the second machine with Athlon 4050e (Asus M2A-VM) with - AMD 690G Chipset - Integrated ATI Radeon X1250-based graphics this time, it took a while to produce the freeze, but it worked (again, with all 12.04 LTS updates up to date and again, with firefox, but on mostly different websites). The freeze cannot be reproduced by simply coming back to the same web page, unfortunately. so in principle, it could be also firefox that causes the freeze, but it shouldn't affect compiz/xorg.
