[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1119581] Re: display divided into 1 - 2 - 3 and showing as 3 - 2- 1
I have changed the summary, because you are on Ubuntu 13.04 and not 12.10 as you have written. Could you give some sentences more on the problem. Your description is as short as that it is a little bit cryptic. At best you have a reproducing procedure like: (step1, step2, . . . finished) that can bring a biginner to the point where the problem happens. For now I set the status of the report to incomplete. Feel free to set it yourself back to new when you find the time to provide a description. Please have a check if this is correct. I also add a regression-release, because as you have written in precise all was working and the following xservers in quantal and raring are doing not their job anymore. ** Tags added: regression-release -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1046675 Title: macbook air 4,1 trackpad does not work on upgrade to quantal from precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1046675/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

In what way don't the drivers work? Please be more specific. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1121243] [NEW] touch is too sensitive
Public bug reported: When I click with a mouse, it is fairly easy to not move the mouse while clicking. With a touchscreen, it is more difficult. Tapping with the finger means that the finger rolls on the screen. (It's not that exact like it is with a mouse) A small movement of just one pixel is interpreted my applications as drag, but not as click. Tested on the WeTab. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
I'm getting the same effect, where system freezes, screen is completely blank, keyboard is not responding (for example, num lock key won't toggle or anything), and SSH and ping and any other services don't respond. Every time it happens it has been during idle time, and usually after several hours of idle. It happens every two to four days, and after that I have to do a hard restart to get it working again. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1121295] [NEW] Low Video Resolution -- need 1440x900 for an Envision 19 monitor
Public bug reported: Its an Intel® Core™2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz × 2, with a Intel® G45/G43 graphic controller, and 3.8 GiB of ram. There should be enough system resources to support the higher resolution. The OS isn't detecting the monitor, and is using a default driver set at 1024x768; which is too low to be convenient sometimes. I've tried a couple of different recommended fixes. Installing driver add ons, making an xorg.conf, attempting to select/edit a new resolution with xrandr. None of these worked. I even tried two different Nvidia cards, both of which ran very glitchy, and would either lock the system up, or not work at all. When my book disk is ran, it runs it in 1440 x 900 just fine... but when its installed on the drive, the default resolution is the lower one. Still, I like Ubuntu and its done very well for me on the whole. Everything else is working just fine, as far as I can tell. I even installed Netflix and got it to work. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1121295] Re: Low Video Resolution -- need 1440x900 for an Envision 19 monitor
** Description changed: Its an Intel® Core™2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz × 2, with a Intel® G45/G43 graphic controller, and 3.8 GiB of ram. When - my book disk is ran, it runs it in 1440 x 900 just fine... but when its - installed on the drive, the default resolution is the lower one. + my usb boot disk is ran, it runs it in 1440 x 900 just fine... but when + its installed on the drive, the default resolution is the lower one. Still, I like Ubuntu and its done very well for me on the whole. Everything else is working just fine, as far as I can tell. I even installed Netflix and got it to work. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1066721] Re: Memory leaks in xorg-server in Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS.
I am having the same issue. When using skype after a minute or two memory usage starts climbing and then swap starts climbing, eventually memory gets to about 80% and swap goes to 100%, of course everything comes to a screeching halt and system locks up and sometimes crashes. ubuntu 10.4 with all updates, 3G RAM and 1.6G of swap. My other system with same OS and 2G of RAM and same version of skype (4.1.0.20) never has a problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1066721 Title: Memory leaks in xorg-server in Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS. I'm also struggling with this issue for a while now. I had the random crash during 2012, it stopped as soon as i stopped using Unity3D / compiz. I'm not sure that it's completely related to this, but configuring VAAPI HW decoding in many applications (I've tried both mythtv and xmbc) triggers the gpu hang event quite quickly. The side effect is the crash of the related program as well... I had some success with the latest xorg-edgers + kernel 3.5 for some time but it was not stable overall. My HW configuration is quite plain (Asus P8H67-PRO / Intel i3 + integrated HD2000), the only specificites are a HauppageTV card (my configuration is a HTPC) and the HDMI output used as the main screen. This may not play a major role, though. --- config --- Linux MediaHTPC 3.5.0-18-generic #29~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Oct 22 16:31:46 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux xorg-server 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu10.11 libdri module version = 1.0.0 libglx module version = 1.0.0 libdri2 module version = 1.2.0 (i965) intel_drv module version = 2.17.0 i965_va_driver = 1.0.15-1ubuntu2 Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100T CPU @ 2.50GHz 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200/2nd Generation Core Processor Family PCI Express Root Port (rev 09) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1 (rev 04) 00:1a.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller #2 (rev 05) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05) Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1121379] [NEW] Multiple finger touch fails on Sony Vaio Duo 11 running Ubuntu 12.10 (N-Trig DuoSense MultiTouch)
Public bug reported: N-trig DuoSense multitouch screen on Sony Vaio Duo 11 (model SVD1121P2EB) ultrabook/tablet hybrid does not function as expected with ubuntu 12.10. How to reproduce the bug: 1. Boot up Sony Vaio Duo 11 to Ubuntu 12.10 and login to untiy 2. Use mouse/trackpad to Open a nautiuls window 3. Use a mouse/trackpad to Open a terminal window and run tail -f /var/log/Xorg.0.log 4. With the focus to the terminal window touch inside nautilus window with one finger. Nautilus window takes focus, as expected. Nothing is appended to Xorg.0.log. 5. Touch with one finger inside terminal window. The terminal window takes the focus, as expected. Nothing is appended to Xorg.0.log. 6. Touch with one finger inside nautilus window and do a drag gesture. A rectangle select area follows hand's move. Nothing is appended to Xorg.0.log. 7. Touch again with one finger inside nautilus window and and do a drag gesture. Nautilus window is scrolling up and down, as expected. 8. Touch with 2 fingers into nautilus window. The following Error line is appended to Xorg.0.log: (EE) [dix] N-trig DuoSense: unable to find touch point 1 9. Do any gesture with the two fingers (eg. spread). The following error lines are repeated during the gesture: [ 2530.712] (EE) BUG: triggered 'if (!(event-device_event.flags (1 5)))' [ 2530.712] (EE) BUG: ../../dix/touch.c:628 in TouchConvertToPointerEvent() [ 2530.712] (EE) Non-emulating touch event [ 2530.712] (EE) [ 2530.713] (EE) Backtrace: [ 2530.713] (EE) 0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x36) [0x7f261cfadb76] [ 2530.713] (EE) 1: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x7dbdf) [0x7f261ce82bdf] [ 2530.713] (EE) 2: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x1380b9) [0x7f261cf3d0b9] [ 2530.713] (EE) 3: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x137c65) [0x7f261cf3cc65] [ 2530.714] (EE) 4: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x13a5d3) [0x7f261cf3f5d3] [ 2530.714] (EE) 5: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x15bc8f) [0x7f261cf60c8f] [ 2530.714] (EE) 6: /usr/bin/X (mieqProcessDeviceEvent+0x1b5) [0x7f261cf8f385] [ 2530.714] (EE) 7: /usr/bin/X (mieqProcessInputEvents+0xf8) [0x7f261cf8f4a8] [ 2530.714] (EE) 8: /usr/bin/X (ProcessInputEvents+0x9) [0x7f261ce98789] [ 2530.714] (EE) 9: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x557d2) [0x7f261ce5a7d2] [ 2530.715] (EE) 10: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x4456a) [0x7f261ce4956a] [ 2530.715] (EE) 11: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xed) [0x7f261adb076d] [ 2530.715] (EE) 12: /usr/bin/X (0x7f261ce05000+0x448ad) [0x7f261ce498ad] [ 2530.715] (EE) 10. Touch with one finger an other window. Focus is not transfered to the touched window. Expected behavior: The focus should be transfered to the touched window. 11. Touch with one finger inside nautilus window and do a drag gesture. Window is scrolling up and down and the above error lines are repeated at Xorg.0.log. Expected behavior: No error messages should be generated. 12. Remove the finger from the screen and move the mouse around the screen. Nautilus window is scrolling according to mouse movement. Expected behavior: no scrolling should happen at nautilus window. 13. Click with the mouse inside nautilus window. The rectangle selector appears and follows mouse movement. Expected behavior: A single click should not trigger the rectangle selector. After these steps mouse and touch have a strange and unstable behavior: Mouse movement erroneously selects text without holding down the mouse button, clicks and touches at windows do not give focus, clicks and touches to buttons to not cause a press event, alt+tab is not functioning. Touching with more fingers (3 or 4) produces a similar error with point number varying from 0 to 3 (e.g. (EE) [dix] N-trig DuoSense: unable to find touch point 2), and after that any gesture fails producing the above error messages. There is reproducible segfault in miPointerUpdateSprite() Not sure where exactly, because first it occured in miDCRestoreUnderCursor(), so commented this function out and tested again and it occured in miDCSaveUnderCursor(), so I commented this one too and it occured in miDCPutUpCursor(). With all miPointerUpdateSprite() calls commented out it works good (just cursor background isn't redrawn). Another workaround is to run Xorg with -nocursor. Easiest way to reproduce this is run terminal (vala-terminal) and on screen keyboard (illume-keyboard) and type wery quickly. Maybe its because every key-press is highlighted with key drawn slightly above keyboard, so we're redrawing the same part of screen twice (for cursor- left redraw and key updown - maybe some concurrency). Maybe the problem lives in DDX driver for SMedia Glamo graphics http://git.openmoko.org/?p=xf86-video-glamo.git;a=summary 1. Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 2. If you boot with processor.max_cstate=1 does the problem go away? The issue is that we rely on vblank interrupts arriving at the correct frequency, and on some platforms when the CPU is in a deep sleep state, it won't wake up when a vblank interrupt arrives, but it will wake up when other device interrupts arrive. That's why you see the performance increase when you move the mouse. I still don't know the root cause, but if the above works for you, then it's a duplicate of a known bug at least. Are page-flips enabled? Is something disabling the interrupts on your system? I don't know how to make teapot runs in fullscreen mode, the best i've done was to launch it in a empty X screen by xterm without any WM and the problem persists. With compiz enabled (and unredirect fullscreen windows) i was able to make it fullscreen too with a shortcut, the problem persists. Pagefilps were disabled in my system because of stability issues (enabled in kernel, disabled in X), i tried to recompile the driver to enable them again for a while and tried again, no success. I can't say if something is blocking interrupts in my system, sorry, anyway, listening to an mp3 in background helped a bit (fps went from 15 to 20 in teapot) Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video- intel/+bug/1087582/comments/7 On 2010-09-24T11:19:15+00:00 Kokoko3k wrote: (In reply to comment #6) Looks like the processor c-state issue we have on some other 945 machines. The original report can be found at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/weston/+bug/1098064 A stactrace will be attached here. Much more files can be found on the downstream report. Unfortunally I am by myself not able to hit the crash on any version, so a stacktrace from myself is not available(I only bring this upstream). Also no one of the affected people is able to give a valid reproducing procedure. The header of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/weston/+bug/1098064 will be copied here and the available stacktrace will be attached. If there is need to test any further please contact the 4 affected people automatically by simple commenting on the launchpad report. Thanks -(header of launchpad bug): No idea when it happened.
