[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1129679] Re: Server hangs preceded by "EQ overflowing."
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1041790 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041790 I replaced my 13.04 install and with Debian wheezy, then unstable, but didn't have any video hangs. I then tried a clean install of 13.04 (as opposed to 12.10 then 13.04 as before) and have had a couple of hangs. The first was a "soft hang" where I could kill my desktop session by switching to a virtual console. The rest have been hard machine hangs, the last one while I was on youtube. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1129679 Title: Server hangs preceded by "EQ overflowing." i have cairo-dock 3.2.1 is any one reading this bug ? i feel that its a bug in the middle of hundered of unsorted bugs. there are some bugs with status new and they are since 2011 !!! when i check the bug to see if some one wrote something . i can't find a back botton to find the category that this bug came from. which mean u have to search manually or from the bug ID , why u isolating the bug from other bugs ? why not simply move between subjects on the same matter like forums this is weird . is this a dead place or what ? i hope some one answer so i can atleast to know that i am not the only here . :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1180646 Title: cairo-dock rendering issues using openGL backend on intel GPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mesa/+bug/1180646/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1068404] Re: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade
I tried the steps by AG. I'm finding it very hard to navigate as windows won't minimize and i can't alt+tab switch between windows. I have to destroy windows to switch around. Is there a better mode i can switch to (gnome instead of compiz?) while im troubleshooting. Also wondering if there is a way to test if the installs went ok. I still have low-graphics mode. Boot up is fine. I get the desktop wallpaper. But no launchpad and many windowing issues like those mentioned above. I started having troubles after 12.10 -> 13.04. I upgraded to 13.10. Still problems. Running on an intel5 with radeon hd5470. It seems like the upgrade undid all my work to get crysal fglrx working previously. Perhaps there should be a dialog to check before wiping out fglrx for xorg drivers. I want to do some gpu programming and need the fglrx to work with opencl etc packages. kesten -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068404 Title: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1068404/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1181902] [NEW] Nouveau driver glitch on Ubuntu 13.04 will cause system to freeze under certain conditions
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hi, This only happens to Ubuntu 13.04, as my GeForce 6150SE card was working fine for Ubuntu 12.10. The Nouveau driver glitch will cause my whole system to freeze under certain conditions. I first get my system freeze when starting virtualbox, which is installed from the offical Oracle virtualbox PPA. Duplicated several times -- Freshly boot into X, then start virtualbox from within xterm via "virtualbox &", 2 seconds later my whole system freeze up. Google search indicated that it might be cause by the offical Oracle virtualbox PPA, so I followed the advice to switch to the offical Ubuntu virtualbox from the software center, but get into system freeze doing exactly the same thing. Duplicated several times as well. I was about to conclude that it is the virtualbox's problem when I suddenly remember that I've got into such system freeze before doing something entirely different, because the symptom is exactly the same. So I tried again -- "startx -- :1" to get me into another X session, and quit. Yes, then and there, I get into such system freeze again. The symptom is that the display turned black, then a random pattern tiled across the whole screen. Installing the closed source additional driver (nvidia) to replace the Nouveau driver solve the problem, which in turn proved that my suspicion was right -- it *is* the Nouveau driver that is causing the problem. Thanks PS. Comparing with the previous Xorg.1.log, the lines that didn't get output are: (II) NOUVEAU(0): EDID vendor "ACR", prod id 426 (II) NOUVEAU(0): Using EDID range info for horizontal sync (II) NOUVEAU(0): Using EDID range info for vertical refresh (II) NOUVEAU(0): Printing DDC gathered Modelines: . . . [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1182051] [NEW] Turning off eDP-1 causes stutter
Public bug reported: After upgrading to Raring, my X stutters a lot whenever the eDP-1 output is disabled (for example with xrandr). In this state, the kernel log is also filled with numerous messages regarding invalid EDID checksums. The behavior was not seen with Quantal. The problem also partially goes away with mainline kernel 3.9. I would describe the stutters as about 10 ms freezes occurring roughly every second. Meanwhile, dmesg sees a lot of "[drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 48" and a few "nouveau E[ I2C][:01:00.0] AUXCH(1): tx req timeout 0x01114000". Behavior is restored to normal when eDP-1 is re-enabled. The problem was not seen in Quantal. Installing the 3.9 mainline kernel partially mitigates the problem, but brings other ones, such as a kworker thread pegged at 100% CPU. This could be unrelated. The drm_kms_helper.poll=0 boot parameter does not help with the standard Raring kernel, but is in fact neccessary with 3.9. The problem seems to be unrelated to whether or not there are multiple monitors attached, for example on DP-1 and VGA-1. A single monitor on either DP-1 or VGA-1 is enough to observe the stutter as soon as eDP-1 is disabled. (Simply leaving eDP-1 enabled is not an option for me, as it has to be disabled to use DP-1 and VGA-1 simultaneously on my laptop.)
