[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 408903] Re: Does not handle microphone mute button (KEY_MICMUTE)
Ideally, we get this SRUed to Precise. I've filled out the SRU template. It's just a bit tricky because functionality cross cuts a lot of packages. I've added branches for all of the packages that require code changes. It works something like this: 1) x11-proto gets updated with a new #define 2) install x11proto-core-dev on the build server 3) rebuild libx11 4) update the remaining linked packages: udev, gnome-settings-daemon, xkeyboard-config I've subbed sponsors for some guidance and to get x11-proto updated. Alternately if this is out of scope we can close this bug for precise. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/408903 Title: Does not handle microphone mute button (KEY_MICMUTE) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/408903/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1176647] Re: Random Xorg freezes occuring hours after login
For some other reason I switched my window manager to dwm and can now almost reliably reproduce the failure by simply starting a video in mplayer and wait for approx. 5 seconds. Before with gnome/metacity I could sometimes watch entire movies of multiple hours. Sometimes it would crash in between but sometimes not. However with dwm it crashes all the time and almost immediately. Since even with sync I could not see a file (error_state) being written I finally got around to SSH into my maschine and observe the behaviour which is worse than expected. At the time the crash happens my SSH shell is also unreponsive any more which strongly hints that not only my X/display subsystem is broken but rather the whole kernel. Due to this I am unable to produce the error_state as the maschine is not responding to any commands (either 'sleep X ' or SSH) as it is ~halted already. This issue is really annoying and it can be assumed to be related to video playback of some kind as this is the only way i can reproduce it now. By the way I upgraded to kernel 3.8.0-23-generic in the meantime. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176647 Title: Random Xorg freezes occuring hours after login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1176647/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 378823] [NEW] certain windows have their contents transparent
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I've had this problem before in intrepid, but it dissapears and returns at will. Now it's back. The symptoms are these: in virtualbox or smplayer, the contents are transparent in the window. smplayer plays the video but nothing is visible because its transparent. In virtualbox only certain things are transparent, for example during the BIOS black background when booting a machine is transparent (but not the text) or certain applications colors (see screenshot). When compiz is turned off, contents inside virtualbox shows. However, the video in smplayer is blank instead (this is with xv output module). I tried setting it to GL2, then the video output would work, but the starting screen is as transparent as with xv.This is with nvidia version 185.18.04, but occured with other versions of the nvidia driver, and Xserver 1.6.0 I tried a restart, and the problem problem is gone for now - windows contents in virtualbox and smplayer are showing normally now. Any suggestions to logs i could look into to get clues on this problem? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 932229] [NEW] Unity drag causes video repaint problem.
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am on a Mac Book Pro with an external monitor attached as well. monitor 0 is the laptop LCD and monitor 1 is the external display. monitor 0 is 1440x900 and monitor 1 is 1920x1200. Everything was working with no changes on my end. The bug seems to have been introduced in the last few days. I am sorry I dont know what was updated to cause the bug. When I move an icon in nautilus, thunderbird, firefox, etc. Basically anything that allows a drag state on my monitor 0 (laptop) screen moves up. The bottom of the monitor shows black and the top shows the bottom of the old window. (ie the entire desktop moves up about 450px). I have deleted the monitor.xml and removed and re-installed the nvidia 173 drivers to no effect. I can minimize the effect by enabling Force full screen redraws (buuffer swap) on repaint in Work Arounds in CCSM. gnome classic and unity 2d work fine. My thoughts are that either CCSM, Nvidia, or a unity update has caused this. I am not a linux pro, so please feel free to instruct me on how to attach whatever info you need. - User reports: here is a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMc1t3G7qvAlist=UUuUEwxgNMLveCAcYFS4iOaAindex=1feature=plcphd=1 uname -a: Linux Laptop-Ubuntu 3.0.0-16-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 27 17:44:39 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux lsb_release -a: No LSB modules are available. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1183269] Re: new upstream release 9.1.3
I edited the original report, above, removing the word 'bug' before all the upstream bug numbers. Launchpad had the wrong idea, linking them all to the wrong local bugs. It just makes for confusion, I think. Anyway, I'll try to report back later, on how this works on my Ivy Bridge system.
