[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1174042] Re: System crashes with open-source radeon driver
Same problem for me: I have ubuntu 13.04 and kde 4.11. I removed my fglrx drivers, so I'm using open mesa drivers. After reboot my maximum display resolution was 1280x1024, but my real maximum (that I correctly had with fglrx drivers) is 1920x1080. I tried to do something from this wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution to section Setting resolution changes in xorg.conf -- resolution lower than expected but it didn't solve my problem, infact I tried to edit xorg.conf with the lines in the attached file but after reboot it says that my xorg.conf is not correctly configured and I had to remove xorg.conf and use the old one I had backed up before. Besides I have plasma-desktop crash at startup (only without fglrx drivers, that is with open drivers). I'll give you some information: Crash log in Developer Information section of KDE Crash Assistant: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=8stmVCky xorg.conf: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=D6MPUEZv Xorg.0.log: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=dWDVe03t ** Attachment added: xorg.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1174042/+attachment/3773428/+files/xorg.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174042 Title: System crashes with open-source radeon driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1174042/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1201403] Re: Unity performance issue on intel gpu
I haven't observed anything like this either. When the system/unity starts to lag, can you use perf to profile to see where the CPU is going? And also checking xrestop and /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_gem_objects would be useful to check video memory consumption. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1201403 Title: Unity performance issue on intel gpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1201403/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1201403] Re: Unity performance issue on intel gpu
Compiz is not expected to be using that memory... And neither should chrome. I think you have a resource leak emanating from mesa (or at least mesa on behalf of the client). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1212736] [NEW] Touch screen: Right click should be emulated by long press, like under Android
Public bug reported: I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Twist convertible ultrabook (Intel Core i7). The tablet mode (touchscreen-only operation, keyboard folded away) get continuously working better. One important missing feature is an easy-to-do right click. The right- click emulation button in Onboard is a rather awkward solution, as Onboard only shows up when selecting a text input field. I suggest to emulate the right-click by a long press on the screen. It is done in Android this way, too, and works very well for me. Note that the long-press right-click functionality in Universal Access in the Control Center only works with a mouse and not with the touch screen (another bug). I am using Saucy 64-bit and the standard Unity desktop. ** Affects: mir (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Also affects: mir (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212736 Title: Touch screen: Right click should be emulated by long press, like under Android To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mir/+bug/1212736/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Just a quick report: I downloaded Ubuntu 12.04.2. I couldn't reproduce my bug on this system, everything looks fine. (However I installed it on an USB-Stick, not my actual hard drive but this shouldn't make any difference, I hope) However I used Kernel 3.5.0-23. But this bug was reported under Ubuntu 12.10, Kernel Linux 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64 It seems like something else is causing this bug? Since the bug isn't there on a higher Version. I'll now try Ubuntu 12.10 and look if the bug is reproduce able at the bare installation (without updates). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1062077 Title: [HP TouchSmart tm2-2010eg] Linux hangs with: [drm:atom_op_jump] *ERROR* atombios stuck in loop for more than 5secs aborting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1062077/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1199959] Re: Xorg freeze
My initial prognosis of not working on UEFI is incorrect. I think it is the upgrade to 13.10 or 13.04. My laptop sometimes has this same problem and UEFI is not enabled on it. This is a very bad intermittent bug. My computer cannot start up. I honestly do not understand why it has been about a month and the bug has not even been given any priority. At one point I had to reboot 20 times, rebooted into safe mode, rebooted again, and it magically worked. Not being able to intermittently use a computer seems to be about as serious a bug as you can get without having something eat your hard drives or corrupt your file system.
