[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1231826] [NEW] Coordination Transformation Matrix Bug - Jumping Cursor

2013-09-27 Thread Jens Harms
Public bug reported:

If i attach a second Display with Touchscreen to my Laptop and configure the
Touch with xinput set-prop id coordination transformation matrix 0.5 0 0.5
0 1 0 0 0 1, then the Touchscreen is not working anymore.
If i touch the screen the cursor will continously be jumping from my finger
position to the right, and back again.

The Bug affects older Versions of the Xserver-Xorg too. The Bug caused
me to upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10. But this didn't helped. I will try to
install the git version of the xserver, because there seems to be a
patch regarding this problem.

regards,
jens

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1218815] Re: [radeon] Graphic glitches and screen corruption (vertical lines) on XMir surfaces only

To be more accurate the fix went in:

xserver-xorg-video-ati (1:7.2.0-0ubuntu8) saucy; urgency=low

  * xmir.patch: Fix detection of linear tiling in Evergreen EXA copy path.
Fixes vertical-bar-corruption on some Evergreen cards (LP: #1218815)
-- Christopher James Halse Rogers r...@ubuntu.com Fri, 20 Sep 2013

However no builds with the fix succeeded until 1:7.2.0-0ubuntu9.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1231834] [NEW] USB Mouse clicks are unreliable (missed clicks, accidental double clicks)

2013-09-27 Thread Gioele Barabucci
Public bug reported:

Since I updated from 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS my USB mouse has been
behaving strangely: clicks are often not recognized properly.

The most frequent problem is that clicks are not recognized at all. I
have to click two or three times before a click get recognized. After
that, the next three or four clicks are recognized without problems.
Another problem is that simple clicks are misunderstood for double
clicks.

This happens with a Logitech USB mouse and other USB mice. All these
mice are properly working, as I tested them on other computers.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1231857] [NEW] [DPMS] Display backlight turns back on almost immediately after being turned off

2013-09-27 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Public bug reported:

Display backlight turns back on almost immediately after being turned
off.

In theory DPMS support has landed in XMir, but it's not really working.

TEST CASE:
xset dpms force off
Expected: Screen turns off and stays off
Observed: Screen turns off and then immediately either:
  (a) turns back on fully; or
  (b) the backlight turns back on but the screen remains black.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1231945] [NEW] X seems to be dumping core on system shutdown

2013-09-27 Thread James Tait
Public bug reported:

I haven't actually seen X crash while I'm using it - but whenever I
shutdown my laptop, when I restart and try to apply the latest updates,
etckeeper tells me there's a large core file in /etc/X11/core. This is
reliably reproducible, and the timestamp of the core file tells me it's
happening around shutdown, not startup.

Going on day 3 of adding:

 Option AccelMethod EXA

To the Display section of my xorg.conf file and I have not had one
instance of X freezing like before.

So far so good, I would say this solved my issue.

2013-09-27 Thread Stephen M. Webb
The touchscreen gesture for revealing a hidden launcher is a 4-finger
swipe. It's been available and documented since at least 12.04 Using a
single-finger edge swipe is not physically possible with a touchscreen

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1232216] Re: Errors on my ubuntu

2013-09-27 Thread Daniel Letzeisen
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information.

We have instructions on debugging xorg at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
