[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1238914] [NEW] Random stuck keys on Lenovo Yoga 13
Public bug reported: Certain keyboard keys get stuck down seemingly randomly resulting in spurious bursts of key repeats. I have mostly noticed this with the arrow keys, PgUp, PgDn and Delete. I have tried to replicate the behaviour in the console with no luck so I believe this to be specific to xserver. Using xev to debug a bit I can see that upon releasing the key no keyup event is received. The key is not physically stuck. Pressing any key on the keyboard interrupts the keydown repeats. The common scenario is either browsing photos with eog or slides with evince. This can cause data loss because if the move to trash confirmation is disabled in eog you may delete many images without even noticing. A minor annoyance when presenting slides because you suddenly end up at the last slide in the deck, midway through your talk. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1235516] Re: service networking restart causes Xorg crash
In the crash dump, the instruction that blows up has a single byte incorrect. That is a constant written by the kernel into uncached memory to be read by the GPU, so the write should be fine. That leaves either it gets overwritten by something else or there was a physical defect. Since I could only see a single byte invalid inside the crash dump, it didn't look likely to be a stray invalid write - leading me to suspect hardware. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1235516 Title: service networking restart causes Xorg crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1235516/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1239037] [NEW] circular build-dependency between mesa, mir
Public bug reported: While testing cross-building of mir, I noticed that mir and mesa have a build-dependency loop: installing the build-dependencies of mir installs libmirclient-dev. This is because mir build-depends on libegl1-mesa-dev, and libegl1-mesa- dev depends on libmirclient-dev. The libegl1-mesa runtime package does *not* depend on libmirclient3, so this dependency looks spurious to me. Is there a reason this dependency loop shouldn't be broken by dropping the dep from libegl1-mesa-dev - libmirclient-dev? As near as I can tell, the dependency on libmirclient-dev is because of this section of /usr/include/EGL/eglplatform.h: #elif defined(MIR_EGL_PLATFORM) #include mir_toolkit/mir_client_library.h typedef MirEGLNativeDisplayType EGLNativeDisplayType; typedef void *EGLNativePixmapType; typedef MirEGLNativeWindowType EGLNativeWindowType; [...] But that's optional, and anybody defining MIR_EGL_PLATFORM would presumably need to depend on mir themselves, no? ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mir (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239037 Title: circular build-dependency between mesa, mir To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1239037/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
