[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1240869] [NEW] nouveau spits errors and hangs when ubuntu search window is openned
Public bug reported: Every time I open that Ubuntu search thing computer starts to lag. Sometimes blurred backdrop disappears, sometimes other random controls turn green (that is, solid rectangle instead of graphics). Computer even completely froze once. The video adapter is GeForce 8400 GS. Desktop resolution is 1920x1200. I've got an impression that this didn't occur with previous, much smaller screen (the PC is at work, and that monitor got replaced soon after I started to work there). So this might be caused by lack of resources or something. For instance, Workspace Switched doesn't cause anything, even though it's probably graphics intense, too (tossing 8 full HD images of desktops around, after all) If I do `tail -f /var/log/syslog', I notice that nouveau spits a lot of errors. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 991707] Re: Mouse pointer (touchpad) gets stuck often
I occasionally experience the same issue in Arch Linux when my touchpad got one 'finger' 'stuck' so that whenever I touch the pad, it scrolls instead of moving the cursor. If I disable scrolling in the settings manager, then nothing happens when I try to use the touchpad. The issue seemed to be resolved after suspending and resuming the computer. I have not tried ctrl+alt+Fx keys, but I imagine that would likely do the same thing. When the issue last occured, I had just switched desktops to a desktop with a program running on it that seems to hang for a moment before allowing the desktop to render. I presume this may have caused a 'touch release' event to get missed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991707 Title: Mouse pointer (touchpad) gets stuck often To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/991707/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Thanks for the test case, that's much appreciated. Just a few comments: - We might as well extend the existing trap-crasher test instead of adding a new one that is a near duplicate. - The test should ideally be added in its own commit before the fix so that it's easy to verify that the fix actually fixes the test case - We need all patches to go through the mailing list, including this updated one. I have added you to the mailman whitelist, so it won't get stuck in moderation if you send it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197921 Title: LibreOffice spreadsheet causes full Xorg crash with Anti-Aliasing enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1197921/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
