[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1240428] Re: Radeon drivers not loaded properly after upgrading to Saucy

2013-10-17 Thread Daniel Arteaga
Checking the automatic attachment xserver.errors.txt (what does this
file correspond to?), I see the following error messages:

Failed to load module radeon (module does not exist, 0)
Failed to load module ati (module does not exist, 0)
Failed to load module modesetting (module does not exist, 0)

However 'lsmod | grep radeon' shows:

radeon 1402449 2
ttm83995 1 radeon
drm_kms_helper 52651 1 radeon
drm 296739 3 ttm,drm_kms_helper,radeon
i2c_algo_bit 13413 1 radeon

'modprobe -v radeon' works with no problem (no output messages)

Any help will be appreciated

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1240869] [NEW] nouveau spits errors and hangs when ubuntu search window is openned

2013-10-17 Thread WGH
Public bug reported:

Every time I open that Ubuntu search thing computer starts to lag.
Sometimes blurred backdrop disappears, sometimes other random controls
turn green (that is, solid rectangle instead of graphics). Computer even
completely froze once.

The video adapter is GeForce 8400 GS. Desktop resolution is 1920x1200.
I've got an impression that this didn't occur with previous, much
smaller screen (the PC is at work, and that monitor got replaced soon
after I started to work there). So this might be caused by lack of
resources or something.

For instance, Workspace Switched doesn't cause anything, even though
it's probably graphics intense, too (tossing 8 full HD images of
desktops around, after all)

If I do `tail -f /var/log/syslog', I notice that nouveau spits a lot of errors.
Here is excerpt from the log (the full log is attached):

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1132033] Re: Gnome-Shell activities shows black background

2013-10-17 Thread Grzegorz G.
Happened to me after using Intel Graphic Drivers Installer 1.0.2, Ubuntu
13.04.

@Romano Giannetti: If in tweak tools you deselect file manager handle
desktop, you then have the background black until you select a
different background. After changing background everything should be OK
if Nautilus doesn't handle the desktop.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites

2013-10-17 Thread Randall
I just upgraded to 13.10 from 13.04 and experienced a frozen mouse
cursor after returning from standby. I could still click the mouse and
bring up a right-click dropdown menu; however, I could not move the
cursor. I had not ever experienced this issue under 13.04.

I hope you're able to pinpoint and resolve the issue.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 991707] Re: Mouse pointer (touchpad) gets stuck often

2013-10-17 Thread Alex Forencich
I occasionally experience the same issue in Arch Linux when my touchpad
got one 'finger' 'stuck' so that whenever I touch the pad, it scrolls
instead of moving the cursor. If I disable scrolling in the settings
manager, then nothing happens when I try to use the touchpad. The issue
seemed to be resolved after suspending and resuming the computer. I
have not tried ctrl+alt+Fx keys, but I imagine that would likely do the
same thing.

When the issue last occured, I had just switched desktops to a desktop
with a program running on it that seems to hang for a moment before
allowing the desktop to render. I presume this may have caused a 'touch
release' event to get missed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1197921]

2013-10-17 Thread Sandmann-c
Thanks for the test case, that's much appreciated. Just a few comments:

- We might as well extend the existing trap-crasher test instead of
adding a new one that is a near duplicate.

- The test should ideally be added in its own commit before the fix so
that it's easy to verify that the fix actually fixes the test case

- We need all patches to go through the mailing list, including this
updated one. I have added you to the mailman whitelist, so it won't get
stuck in moderation if you send it.
