[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243557] [NEW] [NVS 4200M] X freeze, unhandled status 0x00800000
Public bug reported: With the Nouveau driver selected, my system freezes within a few minutes of boot if on battery, but only on heavy graphics load (flightgear in maximized window) if on mains. The mouse pointer still moves, but neither the keyboard LEDs nor Alt+SysRq+b reboot work: the only way out is the power button. The kernel log nearly always contains the line nouveau ![ PFIFO][:01:00.0] unhandled status 0x0080 and sometimes other errors as well; the full log is attached. This does not occur with the nvidia-319 driver (which I hence switched back to, before running apport). I first noticed it after upgrading to 13.10, but suspect this was because I'd never done the above in Nouveau before, not an actual regression. Possibly related to bug 1241595. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243642] [NEW] .Xmodmap not automatically loaded on start
Public bug reported: I'm using a ~/.Xmodmap file to define two keycode mappings. 13.10 doesn't seem to automatically load this file any more. 13.04 did. (same file, same laptop) manual execution of xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap works on 13.10! That means I'm e.g. able to use this key in a terminal or in geany. I discovered, that by switching the keyboard layouts using gnome- control-center region layouts the mappings of the xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap will be lost again. Then another manual execution of xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap has to be executed and it works again. Perhaps the ~/.Xmodmap is loaded and lost by the the gnome-control- center () later. Sorry, I can't figure out which packet this bug has to be asigned to. By using apport-bug xorg was choosen, but it could be xorg-server or gnome-control-center, also. If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily kernel folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc2 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Package changed: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) = linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438080 Title: OO is extremely slow / poor performance after resuming from standby / suspend to RAM To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/438080/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1222718] Re: Using fglrx, chromium tabs not displaying titles
Note the Chromium bug (https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=123104) has comments from non-ATI users as well - comments #18 and #50 both are for Intel graphics and comment #56 is for VIA Chrome9. Comment #12 here is from an nVidia user. This is not isolated to fglrx. Given the comments about different driver versions (normally closed vs open) it seems possible that Chrome's 3D acceleration whitelist is worth investigating. For people *not* suffering, chrome://flags/#ignore-gpu- blacklist may be worth playing with to see if they can recreate the issue with open drivers. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 755841]
No. (Though there maybe some hardware which may require TearFree by default to function correctly, in which case it will be enabled automatically.) The problem is that it increases memory allocation considerably and reduces performance, giving you the same penalty as using a compositor. If you then use a compositor on top, you use even more memory to achieve the same effect. As such it is optional. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/755841 Title: [sandybridge] Graphics tearing when playing video To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz-core/+bug/755841/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Has the MatchSeat patch been merged to master in the upstream xorg repository? Not yet :-( At the moment, among all patches we curently handle in Multiseat PPA, only this one has been merged upstream: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=c73c36b537f996574628e69681833ea37dec2b6e -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228095 Title: Enable default options for non-seat0 seats (no need of systemd-multi- seat-x wrapper) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/1228095/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1228095] Re: Enable default options for non-seat0 seats (no need of systemd-multi-seat-x wrapper)
Richard, Please don't forget to include build option --enable-kdrive-evdev in deban/rules! This is necessary for Xephyr-based multiseat setups (e.g. 2 seats using a single dual-head graphics card). In my work, I have some setups of this kind. One more thing: lately my tries to build xorg-server in Launchpad have failed. The build process hangs in a unit test (xfvb-run). As a workaround, I have to set DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS += nocheck in debian/rules I hope you don't need to do this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228095 Title: Enable default options for non-seat0 seats (no need of systemd-multi- seat-x wrapper) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/1228095/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243833] [NEW] Dutch (Macintosh) keyboard layout incorrect
Public bug reported: The Dutch keyboard layout for Macintosh is incorrect. * The TLDE key (left of the 1 key) should have the paragraph symbol, and the plusminus symbol when SHIFT is held down. Instead, it has the accent grave and tilde symbols, respectively. * The LSGT key (left of the Z key) should have the accent grave symbol, and the tilde symbol when SHIFT is held down. Instead, it has the left angle bracket and right angle bracket symbols, respectively. * In addition, the Eurosign symbol is currently unassigned, and should be available as a third option with the 2 key. Please see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2841 for examples and images of the correct Dutch keyboard layout for Macintosh. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 532137] Re: Wacom Intuos2 tablet hotplug only works once after booting
Similar problem with Wacom Intuos2 9x12 tablet on Ubuntu 13.04. lsusb, xinput and lsmod all see the tablet when hotplugged. Even the LED on the tablet glows and changes color when the stylus is near it. However, cannot get the mouse cursor to move. If the computer is rebooted with the tablet connected, it works. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243970] [NEW] Cursor is \scrambled\ when shape changes in Remote Desktop Session
Public bug reported: When I run a Remote Desktop Session to a windows host - either local on my machine in a VM or remote - the cursor appears in a garbled square - maybe 20x20 pixels. The square seems to show some of the content of the windows hidden by the Remote Session application. I tried this with a variety of different Remote Desktop Applications - and all have the same issue, when the cursor in the Remote Session is not an arrow, it is scrambled. I also found that with Remmina, the problem does not appear - because the cursor shape never changes. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1222718] Re: Using fglrx, chromium tabs not displaying titles

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1069199] Re: 1002:682f Unity does not start after installing fglrx-updates Radeon HD 7700M Series
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1068404 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068404 I think this is not a duplicate of the bug #1068404. In some cases between fglrx updates the login prompt appears but unity does not start after logging in. However logging in as a guest user (with fresh configuration) works. Also removing all configuration from user's homedir (forcing reset) also brings back to desktop. This is not the same bug, because the poster clearly states that the lightdm login prompt appears. This means X does not crash at startup. If you look at the bug #1068404, it is clearly stated that the X crashes at startup and it is a different bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer-updates in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069199 Title: 1002:682f Unity does not start after installing fglrx-updates Radeon HD 7700M Series To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fglrx/+bug/1069199/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
