[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1251873] Re: X crashes back to login screen when running firefox, chrome, etc.

2013-11-30 Thread Thiago Martins
I have the same error at intel_set_mode+0x25/0x30 [i915]. X won't always
come back to login screen, but screen turns black and every X client
dies.

I can reproduce it consistently by triggering resolution changes.
Important information: I am using kde with kwin as window manager (this
appears to be OP's case as well, since his InstallationMedia is listed
as Kubuntu 12.04).

I've experienced this bug as well. I did a memtest and there is nothing
wrong with my memory, and this crash only seems to happen when i have

no freezes until i do something like play a video game.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1200829] Re: Regression: Enabling typical bindings in Desktop-based Viewport Switching breaks scrollwheel scrolling in some windows with a usb mouse on a laptop

2013-11-30 Thread Doug McMahon
A small note concerning proposed xorg commits.
While they do fix all 3 bugs it seems to create one new very limited bug in
14.04 -
With a usb mouse nautilus will crash when opening folders on the desktop thru a
double l. click.
(nautilus crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()

Doesn't occur from context menu or from d. tap on touchpad, just from mouse
Hopefully when/if there is an xorg fix it won't occur

upon starting mathematica 9.0.1 the x server crashes and a login
