[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1092968] Re: lost display configuration and unity by using the kernel 3.5.0-21 10 12.10

2013-12-06 Thread Jérémie
Hello
I'm coming back (a long time later...) and still same kind of problem.

I tried to upgrade to the 13.10, and i got very similar problem.
After installation, i get a low resolution (but the desktop has a higher
esoltuion, so windows may go out of the screen)
Mouse doesn't work, network doesn't work, just keyboard, and not really greatly.

Without the network, i couldn't try toupdate the paackages...

I also got a weid message when i'm loggin in telling me taht many type of
resoltuion were tried and that no one worked.
Difficult to speak more about this message (no copy paste, no scrennshot, next
time i will try to take a picture with a camera)
I try to installattion, both clean instal (i format the root partition, i
retrieve my home partition). i try to install once without downloading the
update during the installation, and a second with downloading the update
dureing the installation. Nothing worked...
If someon need me to debug, I think i will make two partitions, one with ubuntu
11.04 to work (working fine) and one to figure out what happen.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1094905] Re: cannot change resolution beyond native

2013-12-06 Thread Jérémie
Indeed, it is very anoying to make presntation. Just want to say that
i'm still have this bug. Iread somewhere it is because nvidia delete a
feature to retrieve the resolution. I read that a long time ago, but i
think it is xrand that use this feature. The old version of xrand use
another feature of the nvidia driver that is still implemented. Wine use
that for gaming, that is why in game executed by wine we can change the
resolution.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1015183] Re: Inconsistent mouse events for Acer T231H multitouch monitor

2013-12-06 Thread Chris Fester
Hi all,

The patch I posted previously had a bug in xf86UnrealizeCursor(). I had
accidentally used dixLookupScreenPrivate(), when I should have used
dixLookupPrivate(). The attached patch is an update with the fix.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1258579] [NEW] New threads API index different then context after an eglMakeCurrent.

2013-12-06 Thread Brandon Schaefer
Public bug reported:

Say you have 2 threads A/B.

Thread A:
Starts running application, does an eglBindAPI(OPENGL), so the threads API
index is 2
eglMakeCurrent(context) --- The contexts API is 2
renders stuff
start to swtich over to thread B
eglMakeCurrent(EGL_NO_CONTEXT, EGL_NO_SURFACE) ... etc.

Thread B:
New thread created. Defaults the API index to OPENGL_ES. So the threads API
index is 0.
eglcurrent.c:149: t-CurrentAPIIndex =
_eglConvertApiToIndex(EGL_OPENGL_ES_API);

eglMakeCurrent(context) --- The contexts API index is 2

--The Problem--
When it gets down to _eglBindContextToThread, it uses the contexts API index.
So it binds the context to index 2, and returns TRUE.
On the next eglSwapBuffers, it does an _eglGetCurrentContext(), which uses the
threads API index, which is 0. This returns an EGL_NO_CONTEXT (0x0), causing
EGL_BAD_SURFACE, causing lots of other fun problems after. Mainly, after this
happens, no rendering is possible.

_eglBindContextToThread:459 uses:
   apiIndex = (ctx) ?
  _eglConvertApiToIndex(ctx-ClientAPI) : t-CurrentAPIIndex;

To get the api index.

_eglGetCurrentContext:
   return t-CurrentContexts[t-CurrentAPIIndex];

So possibly, when a context is bound to a thread it should check if the threads
api index != context api index, if so then set the threads api index to the
contexts api index.

This looks good to me but I think it should be forwarded to the upstream
developers. They seem to keep track of bugs at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/. Could you please forward your bug and
patch there? Then we can add a bug watch on this bug to the upstream
bug report to keep track of their progress on it. Thanks!

add DefaultGcc2AArch64Opt to xorg.cf

This is on top of the already accepted patch. Alternative would be just
remove all references to DefaultGcc2AArch64Opt, since there is nothing
unique about aarch64 optimization options.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1240428] Re: Radeon drivers not loaded properly after upgrading to Saucy

2013-12-06 Thread Elven Decker
I have a similar issue. My current installation is an upgrade from
13.04. Was your reinstall a clean reinstall? Thanks

Thanks for confirming Doug, I was a bit unsure how to test that one
since I never ran into it (is it specific to laptops/touchpads?). In any
case keep looking for it but it's looking good ;-)

It could be specific to laptops, here that's all I have so can't remark
on Desktops anymore.
Maybe I should tag some bugs in future with laptop, if that's an
acceptable tag??

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1184159]

2013-12-06 Thread Peter Hutterer
Do you have a test case for this? I knocked up a simple one with two XI2
clients, one creating a window with enter/leave on a window, one with
enter/leave on the button grab on the root window. Neither client gets
an event and a printf in the server shows nothing is written onto the
wire either (only the button event to activate the grab).

If I change to an active grab + ungrab, I get the events correctly.
