[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1247189] Re: [13.10] Ubuntu freezes completely when switching user
Dear all. I have the same problem after upgrading from 13.04. Only now I use ubuntu 13.10 GNOME running GDM. [Although I had the same problem when I tried unity with lightdm - History: I was so frustrated I tried Unity (32 64 bit) and now Gnome all with the same results.] Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 32-bit. NVIDIA Corporation GT218M (NVS 3100M/PCIe/SSE2) 3.8.0-34-generic GDM 3.8.4 I switch user. I have the new user session. I then alt-ctl-f7. I then have a frozen background-artwork-only graphic screen for the 1st user session. No alt-ctl-f1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and so on. I have not yet tested if I am able to ssh into the machine after it hangs. Please advise of any additional info or tasks needed. I am currently away on leave but shall be able to attend to instructions from you re this matter from 2nd last week Jan'14 onward. This really affects me allot as I have seperate business and home user id's and switched allot in 13.04. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1265065] [NEW] Desktop freeze while drag-maximizing window
Public bug reported: It has happened today twice at 22:23 and 22:54. I laft click with mouse on firefox titlebar and try to drag it up against taskbar to make FF windo to maximize. I see this shadow/animation of window about to extend its borders and desktop freezes. I do not remember if mouse still moves. I go to another console Ctrl+Alt+1, log in, and execute pkill -U username that brings me back to logon screen. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 998546] Re: 0408:3003 Touch-screen did work on 11.04 but no longer works on 12.04
Christopher, Benjamin worked it out over a series of emails. As I am not technically minded, I don't really understand what happened; I just followed a few instructions. Fortunately, I kept all the email correspondence. I have put them into a .tar.bz2 and attached them to this bug. The names of the email files start with the date and time to make for easy chronological ordering. I hope that you can make sense of Benjamin's solution. Thank you for your time. ** Attachment added: Email conversation between Paddy Landau and Benjamin Tissoire, with a solution somewhere inside. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/998546/+attachment/3937969/+files/Benjamin%20Tissoires.tar.bz2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998546 Title: 0408:3003 Touch-screen did work on 11.04 but no longer works on 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/998546/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1255280] Re: Update to mesa 9.2.3
This bug blocks me from upgrading some machines to 13.10. Since 13.10's support ends before 14.04 comes out, providing an upgrade so that I can continue to get support is important.
