I can confirm it in KDE4.8.5, Ubuntu 12.04 and latest saucy-enablement-stack

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1303305] Re: Broken colors after suspend/resume

2014-04-07 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Morten, you shouldn't create another report at this time. Instead, could
you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu?
ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-

If it remains an issue, please just make a comment to this.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1171342] Re: mouse scroll wheel not working in gedit System Monitor

2014-04-07 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package compiz -
1:0.9.11+14.04.20140404-0ubuntu1

---
compiz (1:0.9.11+14.04.20140404-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low

  [ Chris Townsend ]
  * Fix issue where Compiz passively grabs all mouse buttons which
severely affects scrolling in Gtk apps. Now only unconditionally
grab buttons 1-3 for all windows except the desktop window and only
grab other buttons when there is a modifier attached to it. (LP:
#1171342)
  * Only fade in and fade out a window when it's hidden if it's not in
Show Desktop mode. This allows for a good fade out effect in Unity
when exiting Spread while in Show Desktop mode. (LP: #1104236)

Bug description:
I have recently, re-installed fresh ubuntu 13.10 distribution release.
But everything worked fine. until recently i had strange problem of my
display screen getting freezed randomly; but no response to either
 mouse/keyboard.
But i want to point it out; it happens randomly and is not specific ?
Other day, i had music player playing in background, but screen freezed. but
 my music was still running.
Kindly note, i used multiple monitor setup and same issue of screen freeze
 also cropped up.

I,am not sure, whether it is bug ?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1303874] [NEW] No GLX Rendering on old intel graphics

2014-04-07 Thread Diego Urbina
Public bug reported:

Problem:
glxinfo errors:
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig

inxi -Gx reports:
Graphics: Card: Intel 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller bus-ID: 00:02.0
X.Org: 1.14.5 drivers: intel (unloaded: fbdev) FAILED: vesa
Resolution: 1360x768@60.0hz
GLX Renderer: N/A GLX Version: N/A Direct Rendering: N/A

Workout:
Due dependencies problems, you will first need to install the following
packages:
libllvm3.0 and libdrm-nouveau1a (= 2.4.23), I did it this way:

sudo apt-get install libllvm3.0
wget
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/160002667/libdrm-nouveau1a_2.4.46-1ubuntu0.0.1_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i libdrm-nouveau1a_2.4.46-1ubuntu0.0.1_i386.deb

And then followed what rkmugen explains on
url=http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=59t=120296#p665422,
Linux Mint Forums:

libgl1-mesa-dri_8.0.4-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
libgl1-mesa-glx_8.0.4-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
libglapi-mesa_8.0.4-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
libglu1-mesa

Opened up a terminal in the directory containing the 4 downloaded files
then installed all of them using:

sudo dpkg -i *.deb

And now,
inxi -Gx reports:
Graphics: Card: Intel 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller bus-ID: 00:02.0

Thanks all.
The problem persist on Lubuntu 14.04 (20140406), the updated mesa packages
somehow aren't working on this graphics.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 991707] Re: Mouse pointer (touchpad) gets stuck often

2014-04-07 Thread jeread
I have a system lock as soon as I login under xfce4 or xfce4-desktop.
The unity logins are OK.

I had to reinstall ubuntu 12.04 and then installed xfce4 according to :
https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/first-xubuntu

I have run xfce4 fine before this so I suspect it is a recent problem.
I will try another install of xfce4 tomorrow and see if I can make any progress.

  Workout:
Due dependencies problems, you will first need to install the following
packages:
  libllvm3.0 and libdrm-nouveau1a (= 2.4.23), I did it this way:

  sudo apt-get install libllvm3.0
  wget
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/160002667/libdrm-nouveau1a_2.4.46-1ubuntu0.0.1_i386.deb
  sudo dpkg -i libdrm-nouveau1a_2.4.46-1ubuntu0.0.1_i386.deb

And then followed what rkmugen explains on
  url=http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=59t=120296#p665422,
  Linux Mint Forums:

  libgl1-mesa-dri_8.0.4-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
  libgl1-mesa-glx_8.0.4-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
  libglapi-mesa_8.0.4-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
  libglu1-mesa

Opened up a terminal in the directory containing the 4 downloaded files
then installed all of them using:

  sudo dpkg -i *.deb

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1303969] Re: system shut off

2014-04-07 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

** Information type changed from Private Security to Public

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1240957] Re: Scrolling behaviour and window focus has changed and is inconsistent

2014-04-07 Thread Lem
Chris, your PPA you mentioned in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1192028 for testing the compiz
nVidia 50Hz refresh bug also seems to have fixed this scrolling issue.
Great work!

For those not subscribed to the other bug, Chris' PPA is
https://launchpad.net/~townsend/+archive/compiz-test .. I suspect it
wont be around for long though, since these fixes should make it into
the mainstream distro packages.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1200829] Re: Regression: Enabling typical bindings in Desktop-based Viewport Switching breaks scrollwheel scrolling in some windows with a usb mouse on a laptop

2014-04-07 Thread Sean Fitzpatrick
My apologies if the bug tracker is the wrong place to post this, but
thank you x1000 for fixing this. I've got desktop-based switching and
gtk scrolling both working without patches/ppas for the first time in a
long time. Great work!
