[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1332489] [NEW] [Dell Inspiron 5547] AMD Radeon R7 M260 [1002:6900] Unable to resume from suspend with fglrx

2014-06-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

CID: 201401-14542 Dell Inspiron 5547

This system can be suspended, but it cannot resume from suspend with fglrx.
(Without the proprietary driver, which means run on the Intel GPU, suspend
works fine with it)

Steps:
1. Install 14.04 + update (3.13.0-29) + fglrx (2:13.350.1-0ubuntu2)
2. Boot to desktop, suspend it with the option in the power menu
3. Wake it up by pressing the power button

Expected result:
* Suspend / resume should work.

Actual result:
* System suspended, but unable to resume properly, it will stuck on the login
screen with fan running at full speed. Touchpad and caps Lock LED are not
responding

Since we will need to test the hybrid graphic feature, and it needs the
proprietary driver to switch between the integrated and discrete GPU, I
will mark this bug as a blocker.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1328528] Re: No 3D acceleration with radeon driver and Radeon HD 6410D

2014-06-20 Thread abeverley
Okay, so I've removed the proprietary driver and then rebooted with the
normal driver with nomodeset removed. However, it won't boot to the
login screen and crashes after the initial Ubuntu splash screen. I'm
left with a splodge of purple at the bottom of the screen. I can't
switch to a terminal using Ctrl-Alt-F1 and numlock doesn't work, so it
looks like it's properly crashed.

Is there anything I can do to help debug this?

Thanks for the help,

Andy

I had the same problem. Installing the Intel Graphics Installer and
updating to the latest Intel driver has, at least so far (normally
crashes in seconds and I'm up to 10 minutes without a crash), has fixed
the issue.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1332528] Re: não sei

2014-06-20 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1332712] [NEW] Random xorg crash

2014-06-20 Thread Teo
Public bug reported:

I was watching a Youtube video (actually a youtube Ad just before the video). I
had just put it in fullscreen.
The whole system stopped responding (couldn't exit fullscreen, couldn't switch
window; aound continued to play, or maybe looped, but the video's image
freezed), then cpu usage went high (can tell because of the noise of the fan),
then the mouse cursor stopped moving, and then suddenly I got LOGGED OUT of
Unity.
That is, the system did not reboot, but I had to login again (and all the apps
that were open were not anymore, and all the unsaved data lost, obviously).

This indicates a xorg crash, right? I hope apport will automatically
attach the logs needed to track the cause of the crash.

Obviously this is not reproducible (or at least I have no clue how to
reproduce it).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1303271] Re: Spacebar and top-row 4 not working since upgrade to trusty

2014-06-20 Thread Andrew McCarthy
I deleted the bulk of my profile (.gconf, much of .config, etc) and the
problem has gone away. Something was probably broken during the upgrade
with keyboard shortcuts, possibly in Unity itself. Regardless, I'll
probably never be able to reproduce this so I'm closing the bug.

2014-06-20 Thread Daniel Letzeisen
Catalyst 11.11 is obsolete and it's not going to install on a 3.11.x
kernel. Converting to question because user needs support rather than
filing a bug report.
