The attached logs don't show obvious errors. If you make a bug report

good response regardless of what OS you use (especially when you resort
to immature caps lock and threats). Good luck with that...

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1334721] [NEW] Multicore rendering causes performance issues

2014-06-26 Thread Patrik Bubák
Public bug reported:

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/1739

I've had an issue on my system with most games with the Multicore
Rendering feature, even though disabled in most cases the performance
for the same game on Windows 7 was significantly lower, the game was
unplayable.

The current version I'm running is 10.1.3 on Ubuntu 14.04 x64.

I'll provide the necessary logs just post the commands for them. It was
difficult for me to trace the exact package via "ubuntu-bug".

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1328542] Re: [xorg-edgers] OCL-ICD provides a free generic OpenCL implementation, should ubuntu policy be to build applications against this loader vs closed vendor implementation

>@Graham libviennacl-dev has a build-depends on libopencl1 (virtual) and does
> not specify a suggested implementation (although this is against policy, so

I believe you are correct that this is against policy, the build-depends
should be on something similar to:

ocl-icd-opencl-dev | opencl-dev

The real package should be listed before the alternate virtual package.
The alternate virtual package is there for users who wish to build
packages locally and want to use an alternate package providing opencl-
dev, not ocl-icd-opencl-dev.

I don't think this is something that Ubuntu should (or can) nip in the
bud. I think bugs should be filed in the Debian BTS against the
relevant packages (viennacl, etc.) and discussed in the OpenCL
Packager's mailing list [1].

GPU Crash Dump

GPU sporadically hangs during normal desktop usage, but recovers and a
crash dump is created (see attached file). I'm using kernel 3.14.0 on
Gentoo Linux with KDE Desktop. In my xorg.conf I have the option
'TearFree' enabled and disabled any tearing prevention mechanisms in the
window manager (KWin).

And in which kernel should this be fixed so I can download that one? "rcs flip
dragon" on google didnt result in any kernel change log hit...

Attaching my crash dump in case this is of interest.
(initially attached to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76956)

If this problem is fixed in recent kernels, it would be interesting to
get a clear indication where (which package/version, at least which
commit) it is fixed.

This way people at Canonical can back-port this fix to one of the LTS
supported kernel. Same for other distros I guess.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1321079] Re: Intermittent double mouse clicks

2014-06-26 Thread James Lownie
I think my problem was actually a hardware issue. I opened the mouse up
(which is a Razer Copperhead) and sprayed some WD40 on to the switches,
and after that the problem has gone away. So Eugen I would recommend
you try that, as well as any other users having the same problem. It
was pretty easy to do.
