[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1349282] Re: The gpu-manager should allow RandR offloading without bbswitch
This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-drivers-common - 1:0.2.91.7 --- ubuntu-drivers-common (1:0.2.91.7) trusty-proposed; urgency=medium * gpu-manager.c, gpu-manager.py: - Add support for testing core alternatives. This will be needed by fglrx. - Fix a regression that caused the gpu-manager to switch to mesa after enabling fglrx on hybrid systems (LP: #1310489). Also add a test case so that we don't regress in the future. - Check that either fglrx or nvidia is set in xorg.conf when xorg.conf is needed. - Check if kernel modules are blacklisted before choosing the driver (LP: #1310489). - Enable only GPUs with open drivers that have connected outputs. Attaching to GPUs that have no connected outputs would result in a black screen. - Allow RandR offloading even without bbswitch (LP: #1349282). - Fall back to mesa when failing to enable prime. - Do not try to enable prime if the nvidia driver is older than 331. - Do not abort if the settings for prime cannot be found. Try to create the file before failing. -- Alberto Milone alberto.mil...@canonical.com Fri, 29 Aug 2014 11:29:55 +0200 ** Changed in: ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1349282 Title: The gpu-manager should allow RandR offloading without bbswitch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-settings/+bug/1349282/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1363070] Re: USB Mouse cursor jumps and buttons get deactivated with two PS/2 devices connected
I have a Dell Latitude E6500. I'd seen this problem with my 3-button IBM USB mouse, but it went away when I upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04. I have another external IBM USB mouse, this one with a wheel, and am still seeing the problem. So far I can temporarily stop the problem by un-plugging re-plugging the mouse; I can also temporarily stop the problem with the command xinput set-prop 13 Device Enabled 0 One thing to note is that the temporary fix works even if the device number DOES NOT match the AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad. I don't believe the issue is a conflict between the two devices for this reason. I think that the mouse-driver is getting into some crudded-up state that gets reset when I unplug/replug the device or if I run the above xinput command. My best guess is that Ubuntu has real drivers for some mice and uses a buggy default-driver for anything else, and 12.04 included a driver for my first mouse but not my second mouse. Can anyone at Ubuntu confirm this? Or give us a better explanation? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1363070 Title: USB Mouse cursor jumps and buttons get deactivated with two PS/2 devices connected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1363070/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1363070] Re: USB Mouse cursor jumps and buttons get deactivated with two PS/2 devices connected
Here's some info that actually makes sense, it says that the wheel-mice use a 4-byte protocol and the Touchpad uses a 3-byte protocol. This could explain how the driver could get confused. Anyone comment? http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2004/09/17/230839.aspx Yeah, this is a Windows-affiliated website, but the electronics sounds like an OS-independent issue. One question is whether the problem re-occurs the first time that you inadvertantly touch the Touchpad.
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1026046] Re: Missing support for thumb resting on bottom of clickpad
Just found this solution for me so I can reset my finger on the touchpad sudo modprobe -r psmouse sudo modprobe psmouse proto=imps Though it seems like I need to run this after every reboot. So I create a config file in /etc/modprobe.d with the following; options psmouse proto=imps But after I restart, it reverts again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1026046 Title: Missing support for thumb resting on bottom of clickpad To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1026046/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
