[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 269904] Re: Screen refresh problems with nvidia cards
I suddenly started to experience this bug when I updated my NVIDIA drivers from NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-331.79 to = 340. The only workaround I've found is: CCSM - Utility - Workarounds - Force complete redraw on initial damage - check (not sure if this helps) CCSM - Utility - Workarounds - Force full screen redraws (buffer swap) on repaint - check -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269904 Title: Screen refresh problems with nvidia cards To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/269904/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1367870] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 system with Radeon HD 6330M hangs regularly, especially when using Google Chrome
It seems to me that this problem appears much more frequently with Chrome, but I've had it also with Firefox. It's only been a couple of weeks though, everything has always worked fine for me until a system update two weeks ago. I have a Radeon HD 4350/4550. To speak very bluntly, it makes Ubuntu almost unusable for me with at least one Xorg freeze per day when I don't use Chrome - with Chrome it more like a freeze per hour of usage. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1367870 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 system with Radeon HD 6330M hangs regularly, especially when using Google Chrome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1367870/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Ok, so the same happens when running a glmark2 loop with a 3.13 kernel. So not related to the problem I initially had. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1367870] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 system with Radeon HD 6330M hangs regularly, especially when using Google Chrome
@Pieroxy - have you tried the proprietary AMD drivers instead? I'm fed up with system hangs too, so if the proprietary drivers don't work better I may even go back to ubuntu 12.04 where I didn't have these problems. Too early to judge the proprietary driver though; I've only just switched from the open source one.
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1376903] [NEW] Caps lock delay
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I'm having a problem with Ubuntu, to be precise I have problem with its CAPS LOCK DELAY. I have a habit to use caps lock when I need a capital letter in my sentence, but problem is that I changing Caps lock in Ubuntu is slow, so I end up with sentence like this: - THis is a test. CAn you see how the first two letters are capital. THis happens only on UBuntu, not on my WIndows! Instead of holding shift like a normal person to capitalize my works, I hit Caps Lock, then hit the letter, then hit Caps Lock again. I know this is a strange habit, but I tried to change it to use Shift but I just can't. I want to contiunue using Caps lock, but the delay on Ubuntu is causing to have two capital letters in one word, and that is a problem, specially if you are typing very fast (like I). In 5 out of 10 cases I enter my password wrong beacuse of this delay. I'm guessing this may have somthing with X org or something. IS there a fix? If not, this should be reported as a BUG! ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- Caps lock delay https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1376903 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-keyboard in Ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
