[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1385730] [NEW] Utopic: fglrx don't start on AMD e2-2000 (Radeon HD 7340)

2014-10-25 Thread aanno
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to utopic (14.10), neither fglrx (nor fglrx-update) works as
expected any more.
System starts in graphical mode (X11) but driver is fbdev.

This is a Asus E2KM1I based system (e2-2000/Radeon HD 7340). fglrx (and
fglrx-update) have worked before upgrading.

Work-around: Use open source ATI driver.

See attachments for more information (based on a fglrx try).

** Affects: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1385686] [NEW] [Acer Aspire M5] Touchpad not working

2014-10-25 Thread Felipe Castillo
Public bug reported:

This is a bug related to [bug 1058346].
I'm using Ubuntu Trusty and the problem with the touchpad still exists with the
latest updates from the repository.
The workaround of turning on the touchpad before login works for me, but it is
very annoying, specially because multiple user work on the laptop and not all
of them know of the workaround.
I've notice that there's no more development in the original bug, so I decided
to report it again here, as requested by other people in the thread.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1382772] Re: 1002:7942 [Samsung NP-R58DYLC/SEK] Corrupt panel and graphic artifacts

2014-10-25 Thread Arc
It seems that there's a problem with how unity handles "stretching/repeating"
images, assuming that curved side panel is stored as whole image but Panel and
bottom parts are streched or repeated to fit desktop.
P. S. KDE and elementary OS both work just fine so it's not hardware or ati
driver (and x1250 is supported by linux ati driver).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1385457] Re: "Show desktop" shows remains of previous windows not wallpaper

2014-10-25 Thread Springnuts
Have added xorg edgers ppa repository, and am now using the correct nvidia
driver 340.46. (see
http://www.binarytides.com/install-nvidia-drivers-ubuntu-14-04/).
Problem persists.
Addition symptom - unchanged - is that when first logging on there is a period
of grace during which the windows do clear away properly when closed or
minimised - about two or three minutes.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1385457] Re: "Show desktop" shows remains of previous windows not wallpaper

2014-10-25 Thread Springnuts
Graphics ard is NVIDIA GT218 (GForce 210)
Tried changing from X. Org X driver to NVIDIA 331.89 (from 331 prop. tested).
After reboot the addiitonal drivers windows said "Using the recommended driver"
- however desktop display was worse: still showing the ghosting of blurred
previosu windows, and also flickery.
