[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1400235] [NEW] [Dell M4800] Screen does not wake up after sleep
Public bug reported: When the laptop is either set to sleep by entering Fn-F1 or by timeout, the screen is black after waking it up again (using the power button, it does not wake by mousepad movement or key presses). In earlier Ubuntu versions (14.04), a workaround was to enter a terminal console by hitting CTRL-ALT-F1, CTRL-ALT-F7, but that does not seem to work anymore. The problem is is present in todays (2014-12-8) Vivid daily image (booted with nomodeset, but not done any configuration of the screen). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1400235] Re: 10de:11fc [Dell Precision M4800] Screen does not wake up after sleep
Marius B. Kotsbak, please do not apport-collect further unless specifically requested to do so. ** Tags removed: apport-collected reproducible ** Description changed: When the laptop is either set to sleep by entering Fn-F1 or by timeout, the screen is black after waking it up again (using the power button, it does not wake by mousepad movement or key presses). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1382462] Re: Desktop/windows painted incorrectly in dual monitor configuration
Any updates? This issue is driving me crazy. A few days ago I had a talk at Cassandra Summit and this bug almost ruined my presentation - it was not possible to use my laptop with an external wide-screen projector through HDMI, somehow the screen distortion problem happened always and I was not able to switch Ubuntu to screen mirroring mode, becacuse before you connect the second monitor / projector that option is disabled. And although D-sub analog connection worked, the resolution was awfully low (not sure if that was Ubuntu or the D-Sub to DVI adapter problem). Good they had a replacement laptop (a Mac) and we managed to transfer the presantation there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1382462 Title: Desktop/windows painted incorrectly in dual monitor configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1382462/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1209008] Re: [SRU] X doesn't work for video cards with non-KMS drivers on non-seat0 seats
xorg-server is available in the trusty-proposed repository and at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/2:1.15.1-0ubuntu2.2 . Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1400463] [NEW] Keyboard and multitouch touchpad not properly recognized
Public bug reported: The ELAN (not Elantech) touchpad in my Medion Akoya P2214T (MD 99430) laptop/tablet hybrid is not properly recognized. Both the touchscreen and the touchpad function as a regular mouse, but the touchpad shows up as an ITE Tech. Inc. ITE Device(8910) pointer in xinput (see attachment). Multitouch and scrolling however, do not function, nor do options for this show up in the Mouse Touchpad options in Ubuntu 14.10 64-bit. Another problem is that the keyboard does not function at all. It does work in the bootloader, but as soon as Ubuntu boots, the keyboard dies. I have managed to get it to work by increasing the value of HID_MAX_USAGES in /usr/src/linux/include/linux/hid.h, but this seems more like a workaround, rather than solving the problem itself. (source of the workaround: ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2247265) I am new at this, so I apologize beforehand if I have forgotten to include some important information or reported it for the wrong package. Why do you have the low power igfx slaved to the dgpu? That prevents -nvidia from ever powering down. I'm playing around some opengl 4.x extensions and this machine is muxless optimus laptop so I can either go for offloading or use things like bumblebee, which brings some extra complexity when I'm debugging. Also, I'm playing some videogames in my spare time so I don't mind having nvidia (I have custom runlevel that only runs on igfx for powersave). Sorry for jitter, its 'xrandr --auto' that causes X to crash, but I'm unable to catch it in time since X is dying too quickly. Will give it some thought in the evening when I have free time. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1400386 Title: computer turn on only when i make it so hot in blankets To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1400386/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Hello Dax, or anyone else affected, Accepted xorg-server into trusty-proposed.
