[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1176647]
(In reply to Chris Wilson from comment #13) Implemented the bspec recommendation: commit d247cb7d0cdb73736f31612157e47f166af68ba0 Author: Chris Wilson ch...@chris-wilson.co.uk Date: Mon Dec 8 10:07:25 2014 + sna/gen6: Poke PSMI control around WAIT_FOR_EVENT to prevent idling The bspec recommends preventing the hardware from going to sleep around a WAIT_FOR_EVENT, and tells us to use disable sleep bit in PSMI control to accomplish this. References: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62373 Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson ch...@chris-wilson.co.uk It's worth another go... OK so not my bug but with a baytrail J1900N this does not prevent a vaapi hard lock (probably when de-interlacing h/w or s/w so fps = refresh) for me. I only recently started seeing locks - turns out that dri3 was OK for me, but of course it then got disabled by default and I started getting locks. This is with kodi - it seems they recommend 910 as the last stable driver - and I can lock with 311. This was tested with head on this commit, kernel nightly and mesa about a week old. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176647 Title: [snb] random hard lockup whilst using Xv To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1176647/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1401223] [NEW] Screen Backlight Goes Blank and Won't Turn Back On
Public bug reported: I was working on my computer when all of the sudden the screen went blank like it normally would after the lock screen comes on from inactivity and eventually goes blank. However, it didn't go blank from inactivity but instead just went blank randomally. It would not resume the back light upon movement of the mouse or keyboard. You could barely see the desktop and my bluetooth headphones were still playing the music I had in the background. I had to do a hard reset because I couldn't the screen well enough to run any sort of diagnostics. After reboot the screen back light started to display again without any problem. At first I thought it might be a hardware issue but now I believe it to be a software issue. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1401147] Re: Bug
JP59, thank you for taking the time to report this and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs . We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. The behavior you expected, and 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thank you for your understanding. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1401147 Title: Bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1401147/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 186027] [NEW] [Hardy] totem when playing an audio file windowed corrupts the screen
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: totem Current hardy (alpha 3+updates) Totem 2.21.90-0ubuntu3 (using gstreamer not xine) Load an MP3 file. Totem is windowed and the line below the menu flickers and stretches horizontally across the entire desktop (see attachments). If you maximise the window the corruption goes away. I don't believe this is Bug #19263 as that was different corruption and involved xine not gstreamer. I'm using the TRIDENT video driver if that is important. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Incomplete -- [Hardy] totem when playing an audio file windowed corrupts the screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/186027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Winterborne, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg 103839 Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.
