Hello Anthony,

I've verified the suspend functionality with fglrx on 201107-8258, 12.04.5
It works as expected, so yes, I think this one is not blocking us now.
Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1176647]

2014-12-10 Thread Adf-lists
(In reply to Chris Wilson from comment #13)
 Implemented the bspec recommendation:

 commit d247cb7d0cdb73736f31612157e47f166af68ba0
 Author: Chris Wilson ch...@chris-wilson.co.uk
 Date: Mon Dec 8 10:07:25 2014 +

sna/gen6: Poke PSMI control around WAIT_FOR_EVENT to prevent idling

The bspec recommends preventing the hardware from going to sleep around
a WAIT_FOR_EVENT, and tells us to use disable sleep bit in PSMI control
 to accomplish this.

 References: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62373
 Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson ch...@chris-wilson.co.uk

 It's worth another go...

OK so not my bug but with a baytrail J1900N this does not prevent a
vaapi hard lock (probably when de-interlacing h/w or s/w so fps =
refresh) for me.

I only recently started seeing locks - turns out that dri3 was OK for
me, but of course it then got disabled by default and I started getting
locks.

This is with kodi - it seems they recommend 910 as the last stable
driver - and I can lock with 311.

This was tested with head on this commit, kernel nightly and mesa about
a week old.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1374976] Re: Screen tearing Nvidia - since Kubuntu 14.04

2014-12-10 Thread BadBoy
One more thing to add...

Sadly after my computer goes to sleep and then wakes up the tearing comes back.
You have to go to System Settings - Desktop Effects - Advanced tab and change
Scaling Method to whatever. Than Apply changes and that's it.

and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-
server/2:1.15.1-0ubuntu2.6 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1401223] [NEW] Screen Backlight Goes Blank and Won't Turn Back On

2014-12-10 Thread Marty Sonke
Public bug reported:

I was working on my computer when all of the sudden the screen went
blank like it normally would after the lock screen comes on from
inactivity and eventually goes blank. However, it didn't go blank from
inactivity but instead just went blank randomally. It would not resume
the back light upon movement of the mouse or keyboard. You could barely
see the desktop and my bluetooth headphones were still playing the music
I had in the background. I had to do a hard reset because I couldn't
the screen well enough to run any sort of diagnostics. After reboot the
screen back light started to display again without any problem. At
first I thought it might be a hardware issue but now I believe it to be
a software issue.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1318119] Re: 14.04 corrupted graphics on cirrus (in qemu) [PATCH available]

2014-12-10 Thread Dax kelson
I just updated the xserver-xorg-core package to xserver-xorg-
core_1.15.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb and I can confirm that the corrupted
graphics problem is now fixed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1176647]

2014-12-10 Thread Adf-lists
(In reply to Andy Furniss from comment #15)

I only recently started seeing locks - turns out that dri3 was OK for me,
but of course it then got disabled by default and I started getting locks.

It seems I was a bit hasty in calling dri3 OK - I can lock if I try long
enough, just that it takes about 20x longer than dri2.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1382563] Re: Cant install proprietary drivers/fglrx

2014-12-10 Thread Bruce Pieterse
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1129409 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1129409

A temporary workaround (untested by me) for this problem is available
here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-

Marking this bug as a duplicate of #1129409 as there seems to be more
progress and activity in that bug report.

** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1129409
Nvidia and AMD graphics drivers should indicate whether they provide
libcuda.so.1, libOpenCL.so.1, etc.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1401147] Re: Bug

2014-12-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
JP59, thank you for taking the time to report this and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html and
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs . We'd be grateful if you would
then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. The behavior you expected, and
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Thank you for your understanding.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 52321] Re: Displayed Image on TFT is 2 pixels off, of what it normally should be

2014-12-10 Thread dennis
I am sorry, I don't have this notebook anymore since about 7-8 years
now. Consider that my last comment was from 2006 -- you might want to
put someone from the newer commenters from 2008-2009 on subscription.
But I don't know if this bug is worth looking into, as there are no
complaints since 2009 here...?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 76120] Re: Toshiba R100 xorg weirdness from battery

2014-12-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
brokenkode, thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Edgy reached EOL on
April 26, 2008.
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Is this reproducible on a supported release? If so, could you please run
the following command in a supported release from a Terminal as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:

apport-collect -p xorg 76120

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1224732] Re: Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work

2014-12-10 Thread Aritchie
Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Lenovo T61 laptop

I tried creating custom shortcut keys for the ThinkVantage button and FN
= F3 combo. I had not problem creating the shortcuts but nothing happens
when I use the shortcuts. I have double-checked to make sure that the
command for each shortcut is correct. Now all the pre-defined shortcuts
work just fine.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1308105] Re: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled

2014-12-10 Thread Phillip Stanton
I'm running mythbuntu and upgraded to 14.04. When I switched video
inputs on my receiver the screen would die and I would have to manually
run xrandr to force the display to start again. But after following the
steps in post #22 the issue was resolved. Thanks Nick I would have never
found that setting.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 186027] [NEW] [Hardy] totem when playing an audio file windowed corrupts the screen

2014-12-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: totem

Current hardy (alpha 3+updates)

Totem 2.21.90-0ubuntu3 (using gstreamer not xine)

Load an MP3 file. Totem is windowed and the line below the menu flickers
and stretches horizontally across the entire desktop (see attachments).
If you maximise the window the corruption goes away.

I don't believe this is Bug #19263 as that was different corruption and
involved xine not gstreamer.

I'm using the TRIDENT video driver if that is important.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 99255]

2014-12-10 Thread Jeremy Huddleston
Please attach files if possible. I'm glad that your image wasn't 404ing after
4 years, so I was able to upload it to the bug.

While the hardware is limited to 1Kx1K, is there something we can do to make
this fail more elegantly than with the pink banner?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 125670] [NEW] Scroll of synaptics touchpad stop working suddenly

2014-12-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: xorg-driver-synaptics

After some time i log into KDE the scroll of my synaptics touchpad stop working
and only work again if I switch to VT (console - control + alt + f1 for
instance) and then come back to X.
That's extremely annoying for me since I'm always needing to use the touchpad.

Some info:

I: Bus=0011 Vendor=0002 Product=0007 Version=
N: Name=SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad
P: Phys=isa0060/serio4/input0
S: Sysfs=/class/input/input9
H: Handlers=mouse1 event8 ts1
B: EV=b
B: KEY=6420 0 7 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
B: ABS=1103

** Affects: xorg-driver-synaptics
 Importance: Unknown
 Status: Fix Released

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Low
 Status: Incomplete

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 125670] Re: Scroll of synaptics touchpad stop working suddenly

2014-12-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Waldemar Silva Júnior, thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Gutsy
reached EOL on April 18th, 2009.
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Is this reproducible in a supported release? If so, could you please execute
the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information,
in a terminal:
apport-collect 125670

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.
