[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1448775] Re: Unable to login after upgrade from 14.10 to 15.04 possible XOrg crash

2015-04-28 Thread Jakub Nietrzeba
I have used apport-cli to dive directly into GDB (with symbols) and
found this:

#0 0x7f03bf4205f5 in ?? ()
#1 0x0098cdc0 in ?? ()
#2 0x7ffd079aa8c0 in ?? ()
#3 0x0007 in ?? ()
#4 0x in ?? ()

It has just yelled that it cannot find public key for 55EFCAA8.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1377872] Re: Double-buffered compositing performance is sometimes very poor (30 FPS) on intel

2015-04-28 Thread Kevin DuBois
I see the same symptoms on my intel system. The easiest way to reproduce
the systems for me is to have a host (in bypass mode, with nbuffers=2),
a nested server (with nbuffers = 2 or nbuffers = 3), and then run
eglplasma connected to the nested server.

If egltriangle is running, the host server composites at 60fps. If
eglplasma is running, the host server composites at 30fps.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1397178] Re: kubuntu 14.10 plasma 5 spins up PowerMizer

2015-04-28 Thread Mitch Golden
I didn't get the time to test this in the last two months. It is
actually a fairly serious project as it requires a fairly lengthy
install. However, as it is now time to upgrade to 15.04, I will get on
it this weekend.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1449647] [NEW] screen flickering during fullscreen video playback

2015-04-28 Thread skt.diaz
Public bug reported:

When I adjust the brightness or volume using the keyboard media buttons during
full screen video playback, the screen flickers. This happens in both Vlc and
the default Videos application. Is there a fix for this? I am using ubuntu
15.04 with ati catalyst 15.20.
this doesnt happen when i am not using fullscreen playback. its probably
associated with the notifications that come up on pressing the volume or
brightness buttons.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1424491] Re: apt-get fails to install fglrx or fglrx-updates in 14.04.2 and 12.04.5

2015-04-28 Thread Forage
It would be more helpful to test and post experiences about the packages in the
proposed repository than to ask about ETA's or to tell people to hurry up.
It's in the proposed repositories for a reason. This problem already got
introduced, probably due to the lack of sufficient testing. The proposed
packages are there for real word testing to help prevent other (new) issues
from occurring that might affect even more people or result in bigger problems.
The more confirmations are provided the faster it can be released for everyone.

Seconded. Chris's patch has been around for over a year. A second screen
attached to a HiDPI laptop is now a far more common use case than pre-
output keystoning.

If necessary we could open a new ticket (this has been suggested before)
to isolate the scaling issue.

A request for the inclusion of the new Philippines National Keyboard
Layout. The attached file contains the symbols / mapping, and the
information needed for the .lst and .xml files.

Thank you very much.

Hi, thank you very much.

Yes, I would agree. The Baybayin script is alphasyllabry so it is
always CV-CV, then other vowels are represented by use of a diacritical
mark resulting to just 18 base "glyphs" only.

Initially I did not include "VoidSymbols" but I noticed that if it is
left empty, the system checks the next "upper" keyboard in the list and
producing the character there first.

1: Latin = Key1234 produces "A"
2: Baybayin = Key1234 is empty

If pressing Key1234 in Baybayin will produce the letter "A" from the
Latin layout. I opted instead to hardcode "VoidSymbols" to avoid it.
>From what I understand, it was intentional?

Anyway, I guess that's for another thread / ticket. Thank you again!

Public bug reported:

I have Nvidia Optimus GT415M hardware on my laptop.

I've upgraded my Ubuntu 14.10 where everything was working fine with
Nvidia Optimus to Ubuntu 15.04 and now I cannot login. After I type the
password login screen comes back again.

I did complete reinstall of NVidia packages and installed new nvidia-346
package from Ubuntu repo.

Looking at Xorg.0.log I see this message:
[ 120.353] (EE) intel(G1): [drm] failed to set drm interface version:
Permission denied [13].

And I have found thread regarding this problem on
https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/816599/prime-switching-to-

need a new version of xserver-xorg-video-intel.

Could you please help with this.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1449443] [NEW] Second X-Server fails to start: BUG: triggered 'if (axnum >= dev->valuator->numAxes)'

2015-04-28 Thread Malte Wetz
Public bug reported:

I'm using Xubuntu 15.04, installed from scratch with the default Xorg
package (7.7) and kernel 3.19.0.

The first X-Server starts fine. I'm actually writing this report under
it right now.

But when I try to launch another X-Server from a text console (using the

I think it's trying to initialize the additional keys on my mouse as
keyboard device and has some problems with that.

These errors do not occur on the first X-Server, only the second. I
found a few reports on this via Google. But those were other instances
and none of them had a solution anyway.

Before I installed 15.04, I was running 14.04 and there the second
X-Server working without problems.

The full Xorg error log is attached to this post.

they've only started recently. Hence I'm not sure it's a Chrome problem.
