[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1476702] [NEW] Xorg crash when using Spotify client

2015-07-21 Thread Paul Smith
Public bug reported:

Ever since I upgraded from Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 to Ubuntu GNOME 15.04,
I've had my entire desktop crash relatively quickly when using Spotify,
if I mess around with the client much. Just starting the client is no
problem, and it plays songs OK, but for a while whenever I clicked one
of my playlists it would immediately crash. I stopped using the client
for a while, but last week started using again and it was working for
these simple cases.

Today I started the client, picked a playlist, and grabbed the scrollbar
and dragged it all the way to the top; as I was dragging my desktop
crashed. In my home directory I see a gnome-shell core:

but I think this is just a symptom of the X server crashing; in my X

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1476869] [NEW] System Freeze

2015-07-21 Thread Juan Robles
Public bug reported:

Good Afternoon

I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS in my computer (Lenovo G40-45, 6.7 GB RAM, AMD
A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics × 4 processor and Gallium 0.4
on AMD MULLINS for graphics), I was using google chrome ver Versión
43.0.2357.134 (64-bit) for check my email and watch some videos, when
suddenly, the system completely froze, except for my mouse : I could not
change desktop, open a terminal or do anything else, so I had to hard
reboot the PC.

This doesn't happen very often (this happened again one time last
month), but I don't want to damage the computer with these hard reboots
, I checked the kernel log, and around the time this happened, and I saw
something about a lockup on CPU3 and later on CPU2, I think.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for marking this Triaged, Alberto.

Could you elaborate a bit on why the clinfo task was marked invalid?
Since the two packages conflict with eachother, I would argue they are
both affected. The task also made it easier for people looking to report
a duplicate towards clinfo to see that the issue has already been
reported.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1454868] Re: Ubuntu 15.04 Freezes Totally

2015-07-21 Thread Kazi Shahnoor Ashraf
I am facing the freezing behavior for long time. I have seen it in 14.10
and now in 15.04. I always face this once is explore dropbox folder. I
was in doubt on 14.10. I formatted my laptop and installed 15.04. It
was nice before installing Dropbox. Once I installed dropbox and
explored it the same freezing problems... I always need to do force
shutdown pushing power button and start again. I am using Dell Inspiron
15. I face this problem only after using dropbox always. Once Open
dropbox folder immediately all the desktop folders and files disappear
and start freezing. I don't know why. I do force shutdown always and
start it again.
