[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1448891] Re: After upgrading to Vivid, Cannot change language layout after waking from sleep mode
David Cohen, when hardware drivers are updated to require a more strict adherence to BIOS standards and protocols,, a buggy and outdated BIOS manifests issues for that hardware. Despite this, this bug report is being closed due to your last comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1448891/comments/27 regarding this being fixed with a BIOS update. For future reference you can manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the current status in the yellow line and then choosing a new status in the revealed drop down box. You can learn more about bug statuses at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status. Thank you again for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1499996] [NEW] [Wily] nvidia-libopencl1-* not installable
Public bug reported: I just noticed that installing the OpenCL doesn't work. When trying to install any of these packages APT wants to remove all packages related to ocl-icd-libopencl1. Well, while looking at the nvidia packages I noticed that all nvidia-libopencl1-* packages want to replace and provide libopencl1, but this might be the old name of the generic library. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1478918] Re: Trackpad problems increments vertical offset aprox 20px
ouch i thought it was similar, I am with the os 15.10 installed now, i did suspend, restart, lock and all is fine, there isn't bug for the moment, (in this installation i couldn't find the Hibernate option, but to me is ok) i will update the status after 2 or 3 days of usage if you want to, perhaps it happens on another event. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1500080] [NEW] Dell XPS 2013 - [drm:intel_pipe_config_compare [i915]] *ERROR* mismatch in ips_enabled
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to latest kernel (4.2.0-11-generic) multi screen setup no longer works. It does seem intermittant, but in 9/10 cases it will not drive triple monitor setup, however with some unplugging and replugging of the DP one screen "may" appear which mirrors the local display, I can then add the other monitors. If the laptop screen blanking kicks in it never recovers. chenhao, as per http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product- page.aspx?pID=2892#bios an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (F6). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New. Otherwise, please mark this as Invalid. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1309160] Re: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau trusty
Thauan Soares, as per http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product- page.aspx?pid=3743#bios an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (F3). Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-f3 ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309160 Title: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1309160/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1306899] Re: X.Org X Server 1.15.0 crashed after suspend with nouveau driver
KDEUSER56, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is manually attached. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. First, execute at a terminal: cd /var/crash && sudo rm * ; sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo service apport start force_start=1 If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now reproduce the crash, then open a terminal, navigate to your /var/crash directory and file your report with: sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. By default, this sends the crash to the Ubuntu Error Tracker infrastructure, which is different than Launchpad. For more on this, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ErrorTracker . However, if after doing this you would still like to have a crash report posted to Launchpad, for example to ease triage and add others to your report, one would need to open the following file via a terminal: sudo nano /etc/apport/crashdb.conf and comment out the line: 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], by changing it to: # 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], Save, close, and try to file the crash report again via: sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash I'm closing this report since the process outlined above will deal with this issue more efficiently. Also, please do not attach your crash report manually to this report and reopen it. Thank you for your understanding. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1313170] xserver.devices.txt
apport information ** Attachment added: "xserver.devices.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313170/+attachment/4475827/+files/xserver.devices.txt ** Description changed: Starting from Kubuntu 14.04, when I open systemsettings > Monitor > Display Configuration, I see, additionally to my built-in monitor on my laptop (Samsung RF511 - monitor displayed as "Seiko Epson Corporation"...) an additional screen named "VGA-1-2" - which is enabled. This "monitor" is detected despite it does not exist. I discovered that because some apps I started did not appear on screen, and the mouse cursor somehow "vanished" behind the right screen edge, until I found out that they were placed on that second screen - I could "drag" the windows per Alt+LeftClick blindly from somewhere in the right to my actual monitor. a screnshot of systemsettings is attached. Then I attached a *real* second monitor to my laptop - systemsettings detects it correctly and expands the screen - but now tells me that I have *three* monitors... This is really a regression to 13.10, and as the monitor is detected *and* enabled by default, it is not really good to work with, as windows are "vanishing" somwehere. I can reproduce this behaviour with a Kubuntu live ISO on my system. So it is NOT my misconfiguration ;-) I before had Kubuntu 13.10 with KDE 4.12.5, running well without this bug. I am using a laptop with optimus graphics: intel/nvidia card, corresponding lspci lines: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108M [GeForce GT 540M] (rev a1) What else (log files etc) do you need from me to help resolve this bug?
