[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1549455] Re: Unity8-dash on Intel Atom graphics crashes and restarts continuously [qtubuntu: ASSERT: "eglDestroyContext(mEglDisplay, EglContext) == EGL_TRUE"]

2016-05-23 Thread Gerry Boland
Hi Emanuele,
you attached a branch of mine to this bug - it makes our GL/EGL managing code
more robust. I had hoped it would fix this issue, but unfortunately it doesn't.
That's why I didn't attach that branch to this bug.

Annoyingly I don't have the hardware to hand either, so I'm flying
slightly blind. I make a change, then ask someone else to test it. I'll
have access to the hardware in about 2 weeks time, hopefully I'll have a
breakthrough then.

In the mean time, I've assembled some diagnostic applications that might
help me out.

If you're feeling adventurous, grab and compile
lp:~gerboland/+junk/qteglchooser/

Run it with
./qteglchooser -o
and
./qteglchooser -o -i
and pastebin me the output.

It's a tool I made to try explain how Qt is deciding which EGL
configuration to use. Qt can end up jumping through many hoops figuring
out a good EGL config, but also I might be using it slightly wrong
(hence the -i switch).

I would also appreciate if you could please grab, compile, run and
pastebin me the output of lp:~gerboland/+junk/eglinfo

That just prints the EGL configurations available, plus other EGL stuff.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-05-23 Thread Andrew Lucas
Hi all,

I've been running Xubuntu 16.04 since about Feb 2016, and this has been
an issue for ages.

Prior to seeing the fix for Ctrl+Alt+F1 -> Ctrl+Alt+F7 (which works),
the fix for me was navigating to Chrome web browser, logging into
Netflix, and playing a video. I've no idea why, and I'm not proposing
this as a fix for anyone (clearly the above combination is
quicker/easier), but I'm hoping it might help pin down the cause.

I don't have the technical skills to contribute a patch myself, but I
was prompted to comment because I'm a bit worried that we're over a
month past a release and seeing this bug - which has been around for 2/3
months before release - on an LTS, and still we don't even have it
assigned.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1572667] Re: Screen flickering on second monitor with docking station

2016-05-23 Thread bhat3
Can confirm the same behaviour on an T450s i am testing for a colleague
with the Thinkpad Ultra Dock (40A2) and two NEC EA244WMi attached via
Displayport.

The frequency is always changing from one till 30 times per hour. But i
think i also got the flickering and screen off at the third and internal
screen, altough i am not really sure here.

Has anyone tried some kernel or Xserver options to mitigate the issue?

The patch needs work. Basically what we'd need in the case of a merge of
xkeyboard-config is the diff between the current Debian source package
and what you want to be uploaded to yakkety. Once you're done with the
merge it should be a matter of

 debdiff xkeyboard-config_2.17-1.dsc xkeyboard-config_2.17-1ubuntu1.dsc
