[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1573470] Re: BQ M10 tablet. Libreoffice Impress presentation mode displays wrong colors

2016-06-08 Thread Adam
I can also confirm that the "Use hardware acceleration = OFF" workaround
works. However, it also makes most custom animations stop working and
makes slide transitions rather clunky. Simple slide design is necessary
to make it useable.

As a university professor, I can testify to the need for this to work.
Many profs are annoyed by having to take big, heavy laptops to various
locations in order to do presentations. The first solution to enable
profs to use the same software on desktops, laptops AND tablets for
editing and displaying presentations will win a large portion of this
market. Ubuntu looks well on its way to achieving this. My thanks to you
all.

2016-06-08 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
JUAN FRANCISCO ABURTO ADAME, thank you for taking the time to report
this and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, this report
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How
to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html and
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs . We'd be grateful if you would
then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. The behavior you expected, and
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Thank you for your understanding.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1575887] Re: Intuos Art 2015 isn't detected by the wacom propierties window

2016-06-08 Thread Jason Gerecke
Bug is in unity-control-center. Upstream gnome-control-center had an

have been fixed for GNOME 3.16 -- the upstream bug report can be found

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590553] Re: Xmir -rootless: Buttons are randomly unclickable

Seems like this is caused by the recent focus tracking feature.
Disabling that makes popup menus attached to buttons work again.

Xmir -rootless: Buttons are randomly unclickable

I've noticed this in LibreOffice Impress and Chromium browser. Sometimes

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590492] [NEW] Cursor is flickering or leaving annoying trails using 3 monitors

2016-06-08 Thread grgtvs
Public bug reported:

Mouse cursor leaving trails or flickers when I've 2 external screens
attached. One is in a HDMI port and the other in a Mini Display Port as
well as the laptop built in monitor. The problem is more intense in the
monitor that is attached in the HDMI port now but in previous
installations the problem was more acute at the display attached in the
Mini Display Port.

Also the it seems that the flickering is quite prominent when I'm
hovering on Chrome's/Chromium tabs or other widgets (possibly GTK's)

Also what regards the cursor trails, that's happening in every screen
when I'm hovering over the title bar or windows menu bar

I'm running GnomeUbuntu 16.04 on a Dell XPS L512X using the Xorg nouveau
display drivers with 16Gigs of RAM

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243642] Re: .Xmodmap not automatically loaded on start

2016-06-08 Thread Uriel Tunz
Bug is gone in 16.04!

.Xmodmap (which IS deprecated) still needs to be converted to xkb (post
14,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1243642/comments/14),
but then everything works as before: keyboard map reloads automatically
after any number of suspend/hibernate cycles. Seriously happy about
this. Anyone see different behavior?

I'm keeping .Xmodmap as a kind of original source file file for
reference, but editing the xkb file directly now (rarely).

Many thanks to the devs for fixing the bug.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590457] [NEW] Switching to proprietary nvidia driver prevents compiz from starting

2016-06-08 Thread David
Public bug reported:

After enabling proprietary driver nvidia 361.42 in unity-control-center
and rebooting, compiz fails to start. I'm able to login. I see my
wallpaper and desktop icons, but there's no window manager or panel.

A manual fix that worked in the past was
right-click, open terminal
enter commands:
dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
setsid unity

The same behaviour as on mobile is:
   Xmir -> Unity8 -> USC
which works.

This bug however is about:
   Xmir -> USC
without any Unity8.

2016-06-08 Thread Reinhard
I'm getting this issue on the stable 16.04 Ubuntu. Does this mean Mir
should not (cannot) be used in this combination on Xenial ? I merely
like to have a test system with similar behaviour as the mobile one as
development on PC is much easier than on tablet/phone alone.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590393] [NEW] Synaptics touchpad discontinues function after login

2016-06-08 Thread bradleyaroth
Public bug reported:

After starting the laptop the touchpad works for about 20-30 seconds
after login. Am only able to utilize external USB mouse for functional
control over the pointer. This is a fresh install (not upgrade) to the
new LTS 16.04, Touchpad was working correctly with the last LTS 14.04.
Unloading and reloading the mouse does nothing.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590359] [NEW] intel_pipe_config causes UI lockup

2016-06-08 Thread Sam Martin
Public bug reported:

Unsure what causes this, but noticed a couple of issues recently that
cause temporary or persistent GUI lockups. I can usually get to a
different TTY to look at whats going on and find log entries like below
in the syslog. They often seem to occur in batches. So far most times
the UI will return to a functional state eventually (sometimes moments,
other times minutes).

Let me know if/what else is needed to diagnose etc.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1588192] Re: GL interfaces seem wedged for Krita on nvidia

2016-06-08 Thread Pavak Paul
Before these get fixed, is there any way for us to use Krita 3 in
Ubuntu? Maybe a PPA or something (non snappy) like that?
