[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1605074] Re: supertux2 has two mouse pointers (one should be hidden)

2016-07-21 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Tested supertux2 on:

Unity7: one cursor
Xmir: two cursors

Native SDL2 on Mir it just crashes so I can't test that. But given it
works in Unity7 it seems the common point of failure is Xmir.

** Summary changed:

- 2 mouse pointers (one should be hidden)
+ supertux2 has two mouse pointers (one should be hidden)

** Also affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1603183] Re: Bottom right area of touchpad no longer treated as right click

2016-07-21 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I think this should be Low actually...

Like other modern platforms we should move to only using and expecting
right click via two fingers, rather than designating the bottom right
area (which only exists as paint, not in the electronics).

If you're using a modern clickpad it's really annoying in Unity7 that
clicking in the wrong area on the clickpad does something different.
Unity8/Mir should behave like macOS and ChromeOS in that you can only
right click with two fingers by default.

Make it an option to use the bottom-right by all means (so keep this bug
open), but I think we've got the default setting right...

** Summary changed:

- Right click from clickpad is handled as a left click
+ Bottom right area of touchpad no longer treated as right click

** Changed in: mir
   Status: Incomplete => Triaged

** Changed in: mir
   Importance: Undecided => Medium

** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete => Triaged

** Changed in: unity8-desktop-session (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete => Invalid

** Also affects: libinput (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Description changed:

- Using the touchpad I was not able to trigger any right click, and I
- tought it was a problem of how unity8 handled the right clicks. Instead
- I just tried with a mouse and right click trigger different actions from
- left clicks.
+ Using the touchpad I was not able to trigger any right click (with a
+ single finger in the bottom right area), and I tought it was a problem
+ of how unity8 handled the right clicks. Instead I just tried with a
+ mouse and right click trigger different actions from left clicks.

In the end the problem is that my touchpad right click is considered a
left click by the system. This does not happen with an usb mouse.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1605413] [NEW] dual link isn't properly configured

2016-07-21 Thread Scott Thompson
Public bug reported:

System: PowerMac 7,2
Video card: Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT DDL
Display: Apple Cinema 30 inch

On this machine the desktop is shown twice vertically, full width half
height. There are no other artifacts or tearing. I have another PowerMac
(11,2 with Nvidia Quadro FX 4500) where this setup works correctly.

If I manually add the missing 2500x1600 mode using xrandr --output
DVI-I-1 --mode 2560x1600 the xserver seems to reset immediately and go
to a login screen split as above.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1605369] Re: first monitor d´ntwork

2016-07-21 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1580472] Re: No visible cursor after logging in

2016-07-21 Thread Fabio
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 ubuntu

** Description changed:

After logging in, the cursor is not drawn on the screen.

I can see it's effects while moving the mouse or touchpad, as items on
the panel gets highlighted, or my unity panel becomes visible. I can
even click on them and everything else just works, but I have to figure
  the cursor position.

  Workaround:
Move to vt1 (CTRL + ALT + F1), log in, and restart the lightdm server:
sudo service lightdm restart. Now log in again trough lightdm and cross your
fingers, as it doesn't always work, but most of the times does.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-07-21 Thread Mario Steele
Slight amendment to my last comment. The issue is resolved when
manually locking the screen. The cursor will come back each time. The
issue remains however, when using the Automatic screen shutoff of the
OS, to shut off the monitor after being idle for so long. Switching to
5 minute idle before turning off the monitor helps make it easier to see
the issue. However, when Suspending the system, and manually locking,
the cursor does return after unlocking the screen.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-07-21 Thread Mario Steele
I have tried both the ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers repo, and the
Xorg.conf.d method on my Asus S550CA, with Intel Ivybridge, and now the
issue seems intermediate. It'll sometimes unlock, with the cursor
visible, and sometimes it'll not show the cursor till I have issued the
chvt 1+7 script to have it re-appear. So, between the two, there's
something that is making it work sometimes, and not other times.

does...
