But that should be included automatically in the next update too.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1610434] Re: Ubuntu GNOME Trusty HWE upgrade fails to install libwayland-egl1-mesa-lts-xenial

2016-08-09 Thread Brian Murray
I've recreated the situation described in the bug description by
installing a virtual machine with Ubuntu Gnome 14.04.2 and using 'hwe-
support-status --show-replacements' to determine packages to upgrade I
ended up with a system that booted without X. The file
/var/log/gdm/:0-greeter.log seems to contain information about the
problem.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-08-09 Thread Bryan Quigley
f4c7 doesn't build on it's own it when cherry-picked.

Based on just the summary (no code review) I added the following 3 commits to
it:
00a3adaf43640b9aaa84b8cb98c1f2f227686689
52c9d7ca2467bc273a8ef3c61c1b690ac56caa74
ebc5e9c3b2241be69bee7b96bd63ef00dacf816c

The combination does build and with all of them the issue is fixed.
Ignoring the one big sna/gen9 patch this seems like it's still a
large amount of the changes in the driver.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1611482] [NEW] System freezes with noveau and GT210 card when Chromium or any video/audio application is started

2016-08-09 Thread HugoHirsch
Public bug reported:

This is a vanilla installation of 16.0.4 without any nvidia drivers,
just the default noveau installation.

When I launch chromium or a podcast via gpodder/totem the screen gets
marbled and the machine hangs /no reaction on mouse movements or
keyboard clicks or numlock on/off).

When I ssh into the machine I see loads of log spam:

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1561545] Re: Launcher leaves application name artifact on desktop

2016-08-09 Thread Rainer Rohde
Sorry for the late reply.

1) Well, I have another Ubuntu-based machine that does not have any
custom kernel parameters, and it does leave these artifacts every-now-
and-then as well.

2) And yes, I do remember seeing those artifacts in previous Ubuntu
versions, too, but simply assumed that would be fixed (which it
hasn't)...

Thanks.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1611283] Re: entering crypto passphrase while notebook is mounted to docking station results in sleep state

2016-08-09 Thread Paul White
Hauke, as you're saying that the kernel is the cause of your problems
I'm reassigning this bug against the kernel.

You also say that using your laptop in a docking station is when
problems occur, another reason to reassign against the kernel - see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Hardware_Malfunctions

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1611283] [NEW] entering crypto passphrase while notebook is mounted to docking station results in sleep state

2016-08-09 Thread Hauke Bruno
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to the current kernel (4.4.0-34-generic) I am not able
to log in to my Kubuntu 16.04 at a Lenovo T430 while it is mounted to a
docking station.

Ubuntu boots until I need to enter the passphrase for my crypted disk,
but anyhow the system then enters a sleep state (small moon icon is
blinking). Inside the docking station I am not able to leave that state.

Outside the docking station the problem doesn't occur.

While using the 4.4.0-31-generic kernel, everything works fine.

I am not sure how to debug that behavior, so if some more information is
needed please leave me a note.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1610434] Re: Ubuntu GNOME Trusty HWE upgrade fails to install libwayland-egl1-mesa-lts-xenial

2016-08-09 Thread Timo Aaltonen
utopic had libegl1-mesa-drivers as an actual package, later releases
carry a dummy one

IIRC stock-Ubuntu installs libwayland-egl1-mesa(-lts-foo) as well, and
doesn't have issues with upgrades.. so why does GNOME?
