[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1616742] [NEW] xdiagnose does nothing in Wayland
Public bug reported: What happens === 1. Try Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 Beta on a computer using open source graphics drivers (Intel is recommended). 2. On the login screen, select your user name. Before entering your password, click the gear button and choose "GNOME on Wayland". Enter your password and log in. 3. Try to run xdiagnose. 4. Nothing happens What I expected === 1. xdiagnose could be adapted to analyze and report issues with Wayland 2. xdiagnose could explain why it doesn't work on Wayland 3. Otherwise, it would be nice if xdiagnose wouldn't show up in the Activities Overview when Wayland is running but that's more complicated. (Maybe XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP could be expanded to add Wayland as a string and xdiagnose.desktop could add NotShowIn=Wayland) ** Affects: xdiagnose (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xdiagnose in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1616742 Title: xdiagnose does nothing in Wayland To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdiagnose/+bug/1616742/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1573755] Re: Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04
I am in the same situation as Rudiger, with the compose key working in Terminal and Dash but not anywhere else I can find. System upgraded to 16.04. All fixes listed above attempted, with no improvement. Not sure if this helps, but I also had a strange behaviour in terminal for a while where the operation of the compose key appeared to be reversed. ie. I would press ' then e and get é without having first pressed compose. If I first pressed compose then I would get 'e. The compose key still did nothing in libreoffice, firefox etc. This has now stopped, but not sure which operation made it change. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libx11 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573755 Title: Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1573755/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I've also tried to install a different DE with different compositing window managers: XFCE+xfwm and XFCE+compton. However, if I try to use DRI_PRIME=1 the result is always the same. No problems when using DRI_PRIME=0 (mullins integrated graphics), therefore the initial configuration should be ok. It seems not related to compiz, but to something regarding the graphics stack (radeon? mesa?) As of now, I can't use my dedicated GPU.
