[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1635996] Re: Libreoffice temporarily hangs / freezes Ubuntu 16.10
apport information ** Tags added: ubuntu ** Description changed: Using LibreOffice-Writer and running of the IGP ( (Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2) / Mesa 12.0.3 ) causes LibreOffice and the Ubuntu Desktop interface to become unresponsive every few minutes. This freezing will last for about five seconds before everything works again. When i keep typing while everything freezes the text will appear after the system becomes responsive again. This only happens when i use the Intel HD Graphics 530 IGP. When using the Nvidia Quadro M2000M GPU and it's Nvidia driver for the graphics everything is fine. Same issue as reported in comment #244. The fix release for elementary OS only applies to version 0.4 Loki. Okay, I enabled the "Processor microcode firmware for AMD CPUs from amd64-microcode (proprietary)" and performance has improved somewhat, for both the Dashboard and streaming video playback (both embedded video and fullscreen video). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1308105] Re: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled
I have an ASUS Z170M-Plus Mobo with an Intel Core i3-6100T, Intel HD 530 graphics and a Samsung TV connected through HDMI, running Mythbuntu 16.04. I had the issue that when I turned the TV off and then back on again, the TV would say "No Signal" and I would have to run $ sudo service lightdm restart to get it to work again. Based on Alexandre's comment #128, I installed xfce-settings 4.12.1 from here: https://packages.debian.org/stretch/amd64/xfce4-settings/download http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/pool/main/x/xfce4-settings/xfce4-settings_4.12.1-1_amd64.deb and installed it on my Mythbuntu 16.04 installation. To my surprise, I didn't have any dependency issues, it all applied without problems and now the problem seems fixed! I can turn the TV off and on again and the picture comes back as expected. I'm experiencing a similar problem on a brand new dell xps 13 with 16.04LTS. Sometimes when typing the focus jumps to the bottom left corner near the trash icon. I've also noticed it jumping to other parts of the screen, but perhaps that's due to the sensitivity of the touchpad, but all in all it makes it pretty annoying when coding. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574667 Title: Mouse pointer occasionally jumps to the bottom-left corner To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1574667/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1316873] Re: Left mouse button stops working
A very annoying problem, it happened to me many times per day, I guess 20 times per day is a minimum. This is the workaround I used to apply: when mouse clicks stop working I switch to the console (ctrl + alt + f1) and then switch back to the graphical view (ctrl + alt + f7). But I found a better workaround that works well for me so far. I noticed there is no issue when touchpad of the laptop is turned off. So I just configured the system to automatically turn off the touchpad when mouse is plugged and turn it on when mouse is plugged out. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Please also change the title of the bug to something that summarises your problem. Thanks! ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1637806 Title: hello ?
