[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1637032] Re: The screen keeps flashing (even in text terminal mode)

2016-11-18 Thread Poldi
I should have been more precise when indicating that I have the same problem
when booting from the LiveCD.
I'm getting the flashing screen at the Welcome screen after booting the LiveCD
(where it asks you if you want to try Ubuntu)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590590] Re: Touchpad not recognized on Dell Latitude E7470 Ultrabook

2016-11-18 Thread bagl0312
@chmelab @pmonas indeed I was wondering if this kind of fix are expected to be
backported to relevant older kernels.
In this case it should be backported at least to the 4.4.x series.

I have experience of other bug fixes backported to previous kernel
versions, so this should be the case also for this fix. I just would
like to be sure that the right developers are informed that this is a
very annoying issue which deserves a fix as soon as possible for the LTS
distributions

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1641974] [NEW] xinput setting is reseted after a hibernation

2016-11-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I use ~/.xprofile to run a command 'xinput disable "device"'.
This works well and disables the device on a first boot time.
But after a hibernation, that device is enabled again.

On Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, I have no problem.
I'd like to disable a device forever on Ubuntu 16.10 as well.

2016-11-18 Thread Adam
@chmelab It's not currently fixed in 4.4.x; the question is whether it's
going to be fixed in the 4.4.x kernel at any point in the future, and if
so, when. (from my point of view I'd rather not move away from LTS
unless absolutely necessary)

unity8 tests have always been brittle; the autopilot ones (which use X)
succeeded, while the QML ones (which don't use X) didn't, so this
