[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1308105] Re: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled
Note that there is a Ubuntu package of 4.12.1 available now http://packages.ubuntu.com/zesty/xfce4-settings which can be installed at least without dependency issues on Ubuntu 16.04. The upstream commit that fixes the issue is here https://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/commit/?id=2233f20a7ec6d7cb7dcc5752d62d98e37d9c21ad. As mentioned in the upstream bug report: "[...] one issue in the patch; when enabling the crtc it _unconditionally_ sets the output crtc (preferred) mode, rotation etc. properties". Anyway it was decided to merge the patch and address that issue in a new bug #. So maybe the best way is to do the same here, i.e. mark this as fixed in zesty and apply the patch in xenial and yakkety. And create a new bug for the lost screen resolution and other settings. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308105 Title: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/1308105/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1652585] Re: Fonts are borken after suspend/resume somtimes
Kai Blin, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. To see if this is already resolved in Ubuntu, could you please test http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise to the results? ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: bios-outdated-a08 ** Description changed: Occasionally, when coming out of a suspend and getting past the light locker screen, font rendering broken. Application windows are missing most but not all letters, and text for icons on the desktop is blurry. Already open terminal windows won't have any text, but sometimes opening a new terminal window does have working text for the terminal, even though the text in the menu bar is broken. Programs like Thunderbird often still display text unless they are forced to re-render the window, at which point the fonts also disappear. Firefox still renders web pages but is missing the text in the menu bars. - This seems similar to bug #1434351 to me, but I was asked by Christopher - Penalver to open a new bug, so here we go. + The bug itself manifested with the default Xorg settings (no xorg.conf + file). - I'm currently running with an xorg.conf suggested as a workaround for - #1434351, the bug itself manifested with the default Xorg settings (no - xorg.conf file). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1652585] [NEW] Fonts are borken after suspend/resume somtimes
Public bug reported: Occasionally, when coming out of a suspend and getting past the light locker screen, font rendering broken. This seems similar to bug #1434351 to me, but I was asked by Christopher Penalver to open a new bug, so here we go. I'm currently running with an xorg.conf suggested as a workaround for #1434351, the bug itself manifested with the default Xorg settings (no xorg.conf file). But as the bug only occurs occasionally, it's too early to say if the workaround actually works.
