This is the first time it happens to me. I just logged out from X

Robert, could you update the bug description to include the SRU
template:

I don't have experience with xserver packages. Could you ask someone
that does to look into sponsoring this?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1656620] Re: Discoloration in some XFCE icons and window borders

2017-01-23 Thread Nicolai Hähnle
radeonsi developer here. So, the unfortunate situation here is that the
fix is in trunk ("AMDGPU: Do not clobber SCC in SIWholeQuadMode"), but
it's non-trivial to backport on its own, unless you also take "AMDGPU:
Reduce the duration of whole-quad-mode".

Backporting both of those commits _probably_ fixes this and all
stippling-related bugs, but it's untested. Reverting the bad commit
identified by calexil will fix the discoloration, but leave some (much
lower impact) bugs around (IIRC, some Kodi configurations were
affected).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1658497] Re: External screen flashes to black for ~1 s periodically under extended desktop

2017-01-23 Thread Christopher Barrington-Leigh
This may be the same as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1634449
It can reliably be triggered by just crossing the cursor back and forth between
screens, but it does not only occur then; often it is a keypress in window
(terminal, etc) which triggers it, even when the cursor was already there.

** Summary changed:

- Screens all flash to black for ~1 s periodically under extended desktop
+ External screen flashes to black for ~1 s periodically under extended desktop

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1658695] [NEW] Segfault in r300_dri when 2 monitors connected - Ubuntu 16.04.1

2017-01-23 Thread Dash
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I try to connect 2 monitors on an Xpress 1100/1150 video card, VGA and
DVI output. If I connect one monitor all is good, doesn't matter on
which output it is connected.

If I connect 2 monitors, in graphical mode, desktop is launched,
background picture appears but nothing more: no desktop icons nor
application launcher. The mouse cursor appears, goes normally from one
screen to the other but no clic working.

In console mode, output is on both monitors.

In dmesg I see: compiz segfault at 8 ip sp other error 4 in
r300_dri.so

Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS

Thanks for your support

Daniel
