[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1665205] [NEW] mouse jumps on clickpad drag and drop

2017-02-15 Thread excalibur1491
Public bug reported:

The package xserver-xorg-input-synaptics needs to be updated in the
Ubuntu repositories.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad E460 with a ClickPad. The click pad works perfectly on
Windows10.
On Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS the mouse behaves properly except when drag and dropping
in the following way:

1) Press left button "under" the clickpad with a finger
2) Move another finger across the touchpad.

When I do that, the mouse simply jumps around to the corners of the
screen. It probably can't tell which finger is moving.

But If I do the following it works:

1) Press left *physical* button (this Thinkpad has physical buttons on top of
the clickpad)
2) Move a finger across the touchpad.

So clearly the problem is with the driver of the clickpad.

The solution I found requires installing xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
version 1.9.0 instead of the 1.8.3 that comes by default with Ubuntu.
When installing that version (taken from Debian Stretch repo) it all
worked again. Note that this version is the same that Fedora 25 ships by
default.

When updating to 1.9.0, a bunch of pacakges needed to get new versions
as well. Listed below:

Upgraded the following packages:
libgcrypt20 (1.6.5-2ubuntu0.2) to 1.7.6-1
libinput10 (1.2.3-1ubuntu1) to 1.6.0-1
libwacom-bin (0.18-1) to 0.22-1
libwacom-common (0.18-1) to 0.22-1
libwacom2 (0.18-1) to 0.22-1

Installed the following packages:
libinput-bin (1.6.0-1)
libxcb-util0 (0.3.8-3)
libxfont2 (1:2.0.1-3)
ubuntu-desktop (1.361)
xfonts-100dpi (1:1.0.4+nmu1)
xfonts-75dpi (1:1.0.4+nmu1)
xorg (1:7.7+18)
xserver-xorg (1:7.7+18)
xserver-xorg-core (2:1.19.1-4)
xserver-xorg-input-all (1:7.7+18)
xserver-xorg-input-libinput (0.23.0-2)
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (1.9.0-1+b1)
xserver-xorg-video-all (1:7.7+18)
xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu (1.2.0-1+b1)
xserver-xorg-video-ati (1:7.8.0-1+b1)
xserver-xorg-input-evdev (1:2.10.5-1)
xserver-xorg-video-fbdev (1:0.4.4-1+b5)
xserver-xorg-video-intel (2:2.99.917+git20161206-1)
xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (1:1.0.13-1+b1)
xserver-xorg-video-qxl (0.1.4+20161126git4d7160c-1)
xserver-xorg-video-radeon (1:7.8.0-1+b1)
xserver-xorg-video-vesa (1:2.3.4-1+b2)
xserver-xorg-video-vmware (1:13.2.1-1+b1)

It seems the bug is already solved in the package but this package is
not yet available from Ubuntu repositories. Please release it.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1655782] Re: Elfdalian layout + merge with Debian 2.19-1

2017-02-15 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
@Sebastien: What happened was mistake number 2 by me. :( I assumed
incorrectly that everything outside the /debian folder is included in
the *orig.tar.gz file, which it apparently is not in this case.

So I uploaded it again with the complete source including what Debian's
*diff.gz file adds to folders outside /debian. (It doesn't seem to
change what actually goes to the xkb-data package.)

My apologies. Third time's the charm.

Thank you but debdiffing the 2.19-1 version from Debian and the ppa it
looks like some files are being removed in Ubuntu compared to Debian
(.gitignore, iso15924.csv, extractGroupNames.sh, ...), the changelog
doesn't seem to cover that, could you explain what's going on?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1663989] Re: Screen flickering

2017-02-15 Thread Dave Long
Same issue, although I only have Intel graphics. Adding
i915.enable_psr=0 to the kernel parameter line fixed the flickering for
me.

This is apparently solved upstream in kernel 4.9:

I encounter exactly the same problem as @Sven Eppler, after suspending the
fonts are missing.
Log in/log out is the only one solution I found to solve this, but it also
means loosing all session information..
