[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1656155] Re: System (keyboard & touchpad) freezes
@V: Did you upgrade to 16.10, or did you do a fresh install? Check what kernel version you ended up with. If less than 4.6, get a fresh install image of 16.10 with kernel 4.8 (or else follow a recipe for upgrading your kernel). Avoid the bug by choosing a command line boot level (stay out of the GUI) or using ssh to login from a different machine. That's all I have. Being a user-space kind of guy, I'll defer to anyone who overrides anything I've said. I'm still rock-stable since achieving kernel 4.8. Somebody else might have something to say about choosing the right install options. There was a 3rd-party option that I said yes to, and it was associated with a log message about Intel drivers later on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libdrm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1656155 Title: System (keyboard & touchpad) freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdrm/+bug/1656155/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1665796] [NEW] multi-display layout corrupt after reboot or log out/in
Public bug reported: Every time I reboot or log out and back in again, The layout of the displays is incorrect. Correcting the layout is a bit 'hit and miss' as the changed layout is not always applied correctly. There was a massive improvement after upgrading to 16.04 from 14.04. Previously, the upper display did not render pixels consistently. The upgrade corrected this. The upper display (29") is connected to the NVIDIA Corporation GK107 [GeForce GT 740] display card and the lower display (23") is connected to the on-board Intel Integrated Graphics Controller. I hope this information is useful. Thanks for your efforts... Public bug reported: I have no idea what is happening, but i had to reinstall my Ubuntu because of that. Problem occurred again on the newly installed system. Before that it was just some large file copying. I had to shutdown my computer with power button, luckily next time, with some CPU ring error, and file lost the system came back. It is a totally different hard drive also, as i'm using a portable one now, which is faster. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1665707 Title: After the very latest updates cannot load menu and top bar after login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1665707/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590590] Re: Touchpad not recognized on Dell Latitude E7470 Ultrabook
I think the patch will be never backported to the kernel 3.19 and ubuntu 14.04. Probably you should consider update to 16.04, it should be reasonably smooth -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590590 Title: Touchpad not recognized on Dell Latitude E7470 Ultrabook To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1590590/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590590] Re: Touchpad not recognized on Dell Latitude E7470 Ultrabook
Affects E5570 as well. I'm running a fully updated 14.04 machine (kernel 3.19.0-30-generic) and will try to make do with the nice workaround from bagl032 (comment #30), but would very much appreciate a proper patch of the LTS kernel because 1) the workaround doesn't work perfectly and 2) I'd hate to have to upgrade the entire (LTS release) OS to get a driver bugfix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590590 Title: Touchpad not recognized on Dell Latitude E7470 Ultrabook To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1590590/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
