[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1689408] [NEW] System hang when utilising OpenGL 4.5 features

2017-05-08 Thread Paul
Public bug reported:

I've found this to be easily reproducible via unigine's heaven
benchmark, which uses tessellation and other features extensively.
Simply creating a OpenGL 4.5 context will not trigger the hang, and you
must explicitly request an OGL 4+ context as the default will only be
3.0.

On a successful trigger, the screen may flicker on and off a few times
and eventually hang completely on a black screen, there's no way to
recover the system from this state bar a power cycle (ie hold the power
button).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1689399] [NEW] I can't use amdgpu without nomodeset option

2017-05-08 Thread Gianluca
Public bug reported:

when I install amdgpu and reboot, I can see only few seconds of Ubuntu logo
finally in high resolution, but after black screen. I can turn off the pc with
pressing the phisical button and witing for shutdown.
After the installation the only way to log into ubuntu is using nomodeset
parameter in boot.

My hardware is:
HP Pavilion AB129-NL
AMD A10 Extreme Edition Radeon R8, 4C+8G
VGA R7 m360the detailed report is in the attached bugreport

If it can help, I think that the issue is in the dual graphic
management, in fact these systems have the dual graphic configuration
APU + discrete VGA and it seems that the problem happens when the system
try to "start" the second video card.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1683435] Re: Mouse speed/acceleration ignored in 17.04

2017-05-08 Thread Jay Fude
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1682193 ***

I too have similar problem after upgrading to 17.04. Logitech marble
ignores all xinput settings or xorg.conf settings to allow button 9 to
scroll. XEV confirms mouse click, but nothing happens. Tried in E-17 and
LXDE.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1687981] Re: Backport packages for 16.04.3 HWE stack

2017-05-08 Thread Timo Aaltonen
** Also affects: vulkan (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Changed in: vulkan (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Invalid

** Description changed:

  [Impact]

  *** hwe-16.04 refresh for 16.04.3 ***

  Revert changes to use debhelper10.

  xorg-server-hwe-16.04 needs updates
  - wayland 1.11 (but zesty has 1.12 which mesa needs so backport that)
  - x11proto-core 7.0.31
  - libxfont-dev 2.0.1, which also means backporting libxfont1 (NEW)

x-x-i-libinput will not replace -evdev in x-x-i-all-hwe-16.04 because the
unity mouse config doesn't work with -libinput.
x-x-i-libinput needs newer libinput, which in turn needs libwacom update.

Mesa needs llvm-4.0 and libclc, libdrm, wayland updates.

  [Test case]

upgrade from/to stock & old hwe stack, test desktop usage

  [Regression potential]

  zesty hasn't blown up

  [Other information]

  build order:
- 1. x11proto-core, libdrm, libxfont, libxfont1, libwacom, llvm-toolchain-4.0,
wayland
+ 1. x11proto-core, libdrm, libxfont, libxfont1, libwacom, llvm-toolchain-4.0,
vulkan, wayland
  2. libclc, libinput, xorg-server (build-dep libxfont1-dev)
  3. mesa, xorg-server-hwe-16.04
  4. drivers
  5. xorg-hwe-16.04

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1689356] [NEW] UI scale being reset to 1 everytime when display sleeps for a while

2017-05-08 Thread Park Ju Hyung
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 17.04,
the HiDPI setting(Scale for menu and title bars)
is being reset to 1 everytime when display sleeps for a while,
making everything looks small.

If the display sleeps and I resume it instantly, it's fine,
but if the display slept for long, the HiDPI setting gets reset to 1.

My guess is that if a display is plugged in(detected), the old DPI
setting is not restored.

This issue is not present on previous Ubuntu versions
and the same issue persists even after a fresh install.

Well, it will be included in xkeyboard-config 2.21, and we are on
version 2.19 in Ubuntu at the moment. Possibly it will reach Ubuntu
17.10, but more likely you'll see the change only in Ubuntu 18.04.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1689252] [NEW] Need newer vulkan loader version

2017-05-08 Thread Sandeep
Public bug reported:

Vulkan loader has moved to newer version and that is needed to make use
of all the recently proposed vulkan extensions in the application.

The main application that doesn't work currently is with Vulkan CTS:
https://github.com/KhronosGroup/VK-GL-CTS

Vulkan CTS passing is required for a device to be called as Vulkan
compatible.

Please upgrade the libvulkan.so version to 1.0.42 that is available for
latest ubuntu version (17.04).

Thanks.
