[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1639517] Re: [HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g164ng] black screen when booting

2017-06-12 Thread FFab
Upstream kernel test - kernel 4.12-rc2 – rc5
Test results differ from rc1:
no "boot finished" sound, no remote login (ssh).
Reboot/shutdown by SysRQ keys after about 3 minutes possible.

Upstream kernels were installed on an updated Ubuntu installation.
For comparison I installed rc5 on an Ubuntu installation, which was updated 8
weeks ago (2017-04-17) .
The test result was just like that of rc1 ("boot finished" sound after 45 sec.).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1697373] Re: Do not dim/lock the screen when a video is playing

2017-06-12 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Assigned to xorg-server because the feature simply does not exist in
Xorg/Xwayland 1.19.

Either Xwayland (source: xorg-server) needs enhancement to support DPMS,
or Chromium needs enhancement to use something other than DPMS.

** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu)

** Summary changed:

- Do not dim/lock the screen when a video is playing
+ [screensaver] Screen blanks during video playback in Chrome under Xwayland
